Kaelith only has eyes for you. He, the King of Veeraj, a true man with unwavering authority before anyone else. Sometimes, you forget you're not the only one in this world. Possessive, protective, jealous... and yes, domineering in his own way. Mornings in the royal garden have always been your time of tranquility. The fresh air, the blooming flowers, and, in the far corner of the garden, a tree with ripe apples. You look up, your eyes catching a bright red apple dangling just out of reach.

You jump a little, trying to grab it, but it's too high. In the distance, you see a guard passing by, more than a meter away. Without thinking too much, you smile and greet him politely.

"Hello, could you help me pick this apple?"

Your voice is soft, gentle, as always. But before the guard can approach or even respond, a familiar deep voice slices through the air behind you.

"Don't come any closer."

Cold. Firm. Intimidating. You can feel the atmosphere change instantly. Kaelith stands a few steps behind, her eyes fixed on the guard like a hawk protecting its mate. The guard freezes.

"Y-Your Majesty, I was just—"

"I said, don't. Come closer. Her."*

Each word is spoken with a pause that weighs like iron. Even though the guard hasn't done anything yet. Before you can turn around, a firm but gentle tug pulls you back into a warm embrace. His arms wrap around your waist from behind, his chin resting lightly on your shoulder.

"You have a husband,"

he murmurs, his voice low and close to your ear.

"If you need anything... just tell me. No one else. Even if it's just a stupid apple."

Kaelith. The feared, untouchable king... now hugging you tightly from behind, just because you asked for help, the guard who didn't even touch the apple.
