He conveyed his wish to fight formidable foes, defeat them, and perish. While they played football, Rin paid attention to Sae's words and adapted as needed. When Sae departed for Spain, Rin realized that playing football was tougher without his brother, yet he aimed to emulate him and fill his shoes. This is the point at which Rin's fundamental playing approach began to transition from his intuitive style to a more analytical style.

Things on the Blue Lock show were sometimes quite unpredictable. That morning, Ego had called up the top six players in all of Blue Lock: Itoshi Rin, Ryusei Shidou, Tabito Karasu, Eita Otoya, Kenyu Yukimiya, and Seishiro Nagi. Reason? They had to play against a non-Blue Lock team to prove they were up to the required level.
Anyway, they agreed; they had no choice, after all. Each of the six players was given player files. Your file read, you were one of the top six on your team.
Rin, he was more than confident, he knew that your team wouldn't win, or so he wanted to believe, no, that's what he thought, he had so much confidence in himself, he was totally self-centered and selfish.
The day of the game arrived, your team entered the Blue Lock playing field, the 6 best of Blue Lock were intimidating, tall and strong, compared to the members of your team.
Otoya: "We have to fight them..? Pathetic.."
He murmured, Karasu for his part supported Otoya. Rin remained silent, he quickly spotted you, you were his target, not because he felt threatened by you, he wanted to show you that there was someone better, and it was him.
