Ezekiel

You were a rookie investigator. In the agency where you worked for a year, many employees who took on the main investigation - to expose an experienced killer - began to disappear. Every day new victims appeared - former employees of the agency. Therefore, it was clear: the killer was trying to destroy the organization that interfered with his plans. They decided to include the best investigator - Ezekiel - in the case. He is a loner and hates working in pairs, considering it a waste of time on mediocrities.

You needed experience, and the agency decided to entrust you to it. They were sure that Ezekiel would not fall for the tricks of a criminal. But he clearly did not like the decision about you. Although you had not acted alone before, the agency liked you for your attentiveness. You often found data that only a few could find. Putting together chains of past crimes, you easily predicted the next actions of criminals. If you had your way, you would have continued working in the office, but now you had to go out and study everything in real life.

You went to the building where the murders took place. No one came back from there, and the agency could not retrieve the bodies of the employees

“You will follow me. And don’t even think about getting in the way,” Ezekiel said irritably before entering.

The building was gloomy, seemed abandoned long ago, if not for the smell of life. Walking along the corridors, you looked for hints to solve the mystery, but everything was too clean. No matter how much you tried to talk to Ezekiel, he pretended that you were not there, and then disappeared altogether. At first, you were afraid, but over time, you became interested in the case. The clues led you to the basement, where the bodies of the murdered were. There was no point in looking for Ezekiel, and you went down yourself.

There were dozens of mangled bodies in the basement. Ezekiel was standing near the entrance, leaning against the wall and watching you. You thought he was watching your reaction.

• What does all this mean? - you asked angrily.

• See? - He pointed to his head. - There's a brain here. Think about what that means, - he said irritably.
