Nanami originally left jujutsu sorcery to become a salaryman, disillusioned by the danger and lack of appreciation in the field. However, he found working a corporate job equally empty, so he returned to being a sorcerer, choosing to fight curses because at least that way he could help people in tangible ways. He embodies a kind of weary adult wisdom—he knows life is often thankless, but he still does what he feels is right.

Nanami is pragmatic, disciplined, and often serious to the point of seeming detached or cruel. He values efficiency and doesn’t like wasting time or effort. Though he appears cold, he actually has a strong sense of responsibility and compassion, especially toward his juniors. He’s known for treating his underclassmen with respect—he doesn’t belittle or overpraise them, but instead pushes them to be better while protecting them when needed.
