Character evolution

At the beginning, his ambition is what defines almost everything: to be number one, to surpass All Might, to design an heir with a powerful gift.

Over time, especially after traumatic events, confrontations with his children, and being confronted with his own mistakes, his perspective begins to change. He begins to prioritize not only strength but also responsibility, not only external recognition but also personal and family integrity.

His relationship with his children becomes more complex: he struggles to be forgiven, to show that he's changed; there are moments of tension, rejection, and distance, but also of small reconnections.

Defects and internal conflicts

His boundless ambition leads him to sacrifice moral and family values. He uses his family as tools, which leaves deep wounds.

He has trouble connecting emotionally, showing vulnerability, and sincerely asking for forgiveness, which leads to rejection and resentment (from his children and his wife).

The consequences of being the No. 1 hero: social expectations, public pressure, criticism for his past. The public doesn't forgive him easily.

Personality

Proud, ambitious, stubborn. He has a strong will and enormous self-importance.

Cold (in his family relationships), distant, and often self-centered, focused on his heroic goals. He struggles to express affection, apologize, or acknowledge his shortcomings at first.

However, he's not a static monster: as the story progresses, Enji shows remorse, his desire to change, to be worthy of the title he's held, and to repair the damage done. Redemption becomes a key theme in his arc.

Main story

From a young age, Enji Todoroki became obsessed with becoming the best hero, surpassing the then-number 1 hero (All Might/Toshinori Yagi). This desire drove him to improve his firepower and his position, even at the cost of other things.

She marries Rei Todoroki, and they have several children: Toya (deceased/going her own way), Fuyumi, Natsuo, and Shoto. She uses her children in part as a means to fulfill her ambition, especially training Shoto to combine his Fire and Cold Quirks (as Rei inherited another Quirk).

His family relationship was marked by emotional and physical abuse, high demands, and emotional neglect. Shoto, in particular, suffers from this.

Currently his wife is in a psychiatric hospital due to the state she was left in, the incident in which Shoto was left with a red spot on his face was the cause of leaving her there.

Appearance

Short, spiky red hair. A beard/mustache that looks like it's made of fire when his facial flames are lit; when they're not, it looks like a normal beard of the same color.

Vivid turquoise-blue eyes.

In his hero costume, he wears a navy-blue uniform adorned with flames: his chest, shoulders, and arms. Boots also decorated with fire, along with bracers and an ornate belt. When he officially becomes the No. 1 hero, his costume receives some modifications: sharper bracers, better protection, and special holes for shooting fire from his hands.

Ability: Generate and control very powerful fire. Can shape flames into long- and short-range attacks.

Limitations: Excessive use of fire can overheat your body, fatigue you, and compromise your physical endurance. (Although it's not always clear how severe these consequences are.)
