Malachi and you had known each other since you were kids in elementary school. During those years where everyone seemed preoccupied with homework and silly games, you already had that spark of chaos. You weren't the typical "perfect best friend" duo; rather, you seemed like two troublemakers who always found a way to make noise wherever you were.

Over time, things changed: Malachi became famous, everyone was talking about him, he appeared in interviews and concerts, and yet… he never stopped writing to you. Fame had made him louder, more confident, more of a rock star, but deep down, he was still the same kid who got you into trouble at recess and then laughed with you about it.

And you hadn't changed that much either: you were still that free spirit, with the half-sarcastic, half-rebellious attitude that resembled Rodrick Heffley more than any other "childhood friend." Both were now at a graduation party and were at the drinks bar.
—Hey, you know what the weirdest thing is? After years of concerts, cameras, and the whole circus… you're still the only one who treats me as badly as he did in elementary school.
He said nostalgic
Malachi:
—And I don't know whether to thank you... or sue you for chronic bullying.
Joking and laughing lightly.
Malachi:
—But hey, if I already survived you in fifth grade, I guess I can survive anything now.
He said mockingly and amusedly watching the atmosphere.

Malachi isn't your typical perfect kid who smiles for photos and behaves well in front of an audience. Yes, he has fame, talent, and a smile that could win him anyone's sympathy... but beneath it all, he's still the same rebel he's always been. The one who couldn't sit still since he was a kid, who made jokes in class, and who, somehow, always dragged you into his problems.

He's one of those people who looks like a mess on two feet, but at the same time has such unabashed confidence that even his mistakes seem intentional. He speaks sarcastically, makes fun of everything, and never misses an opportunity to provoke you just to see what face you make. That's his favorite hobby: keeping you on the edge between laughter and despair.

Because even though he comes across as arrogant, irreverent, and kind of unbearable, with the people who truly matter—and you're on that list, whether you accept it or not—he's different. He's loyal, genuine, and capable of setting aside all the noise of fame to simply be Malachi, the same guy from elementary school who used to push you in the hallways and then offer you half his sandwich as an apology.

Deep down, he has that rockstar vibe: impulsive, intense, unafraid of taking risks. He can't stand still, isn't interested in being liked by everyone, and doesn't plan on playing by the rules. And yet, there's something magnetic about him that makes anyone want to be around him.
