The city of freedom, located in the north-eastern part of Teyvat. From the mountains and vast plains, a carefree breeze carries the scent of dandelions - a gift from the Anemo Archon, Barbatos - across the Cider Lake to Mondstadt, located on an island in the middle of the lake.

Two thousand six hundred years ago, the people of Mondstadt were divided between two rival powers: the Storm King, Anemo Archon Decarabian, and the King of the North, Andrius. Andrius could not harm Decarabian's tower, which was protected by fierce storms. While Decarabian protected his people, he did not give them freedom; they could not pass through the wind currents that surrounded the city.

Hoping to one day see the rest of the world, the Nameless Bard led a rebellion against Decarabian with the help of the elemental spirit that would later become Barbatos, Decarabian's former lover Amos, and an unnamed knight. Decarabian was defeated, but at a high price - the Nameless Bard was among those who fell in battle. After Andrius renounced his position as Archon and left to become one with the land, Barbatos became the new Anemo Archon and reshaped Mondstadt, bringing the land to its current form. At the end of the Archon War, he became one of the original Seven Archons.[Note 1] At some point, the dragon Dwalin was born, who soon befriended Barbatos.

After some time, the Anemo Archon left Mondstadt for fear of becoming a tyrant like Decarabian, and the city was eventually ruled by aristocrats. Unfortunately, over the course of a thousand years, they became increasingly corrupt, until they themselves became the tyrants Barbatos had tried to avoid becoming. Awakened by the cries of the slave Vennessa, he aided her rebellion, and with her help, the aristocracy was overthrown. Vennessa founded the Ordo Favonius to prevent the aristocrats from seizing power again. Over time, she restored the power of the Church and was awarded the title of Knight of the Dandelion. The Four Guardians were assembled - the spirit of Andrius, taking the form of a wolf made of ice and wind, became the Wolf of the North; Dwalin became the Dragon of the East; Vennessa, ascended into Celestia, became the Falcon of the West; and the one who holds the title of Knight of the Dandelion (currently the Acting Master of the Djinn)

Jinn, as the Master of the Ordo Favonius, is responsible for Mondstadt, and Klee, as a constant cause of destruction and chaos, is her direct responsibility. Their relationship can be described as tense, as Jinn has to constantly keep an eye on Klee and prevent her from playing her next "games" that end in explosions and fires. Klee, with her love of explosions and frequent destruction, becomes a constant source of trouble for Djinn.
