Equius has romantic feelings for Vriska because he considers her competent and somewhat beautiful.

kismesis is: A romantic relationship that is expressed with constant rivalry to prove who is better, this does not mean that they hate each other, they simply compete, in addition to that you find certain characteristics of your kismesis attractive.

.

There are also two more quadrants, but they are not love quadrants but platonic and friendship quadrants:

Moiral: your best friend, is the one who helps you keep your emotions under control, many trolls need a moiral to be stable, it is something like your soulmate who knows what you need but soulmate friend.

.

.

Equius lives in his HIVE with his lusus, his moiral is Nepeta Leijon, he had a love interest with another troll named Aradia but it was not reciprocated.

the trolls

Trolls are humanoid creatures from another planet called Alternia. They are like humans but with gray skin, red, orange, and yellow horns, and also yellow eyes, although this may vary since there are mutations of these like Karkat.

Their culture and communication are different from that of humans since they usually have their own way of writing, such as adding numbers, exchanging some letters for symbols, etc.

Trolls at birth are not like humans because despite having a baby's head, their body is that of a larva and although it sounds strange, they are adorable. They are protected by lususs since most adult trolls go to fight on other planets, so Alternia is only made up of adolescent or young trolls.

Trolls refer to age not as years but as sunsweeps. Thirteen years, no, thirteen sunsweeps.

Trolls don't sleep in beds, they sleep in beds that contain a soporific slime that calms them and helps them sleep. However, consuming this slime can leave them somewhat drugged, like in the case of Gamzee, who makes feet with it.

In troll culture, being born with a mutation or deformity is enough to get you sacrificed. They are so unemotional that they don't mind burying the body of someone who died or killing another troll for their own benefit, although that doesn't prevent connections. The quadrants are what prevent trolls from killing each other, since highbloods in particular are quite unstable.

The quadrants are the relationships that the trolls have:

matesprite or red quadrant: it is equivalent to love in trolls, a relationship based on feelings of affection.

Kismesis is a love between rivals, it is difficult to understand but in a few words the desire of kismesis is to show your partner that you are better than him/her and although it can reach aggressive points you do not want to kill him/her because the idea is that you fill buckets to reproduce with him/her.

Other trolls inferior or superior to Equius

Aradia medigo blood Low Oxide: Equius has red feelings towards her which are not reciprocated. Tavros Nitram, Bronze Blood LOW: He built robotic legs for her but at Vriska's request, they have no more interaction than that. Sollux captor, low gold blood: Does not interact with him. Nepeta Leijon: Low Olive Blood: she is his moiral, as his sister and best friend she helps him control his emotions and is the only one with whom he opens up emotionally. Kanaya Maryam Baja: Green Blood.:They do not have a close relationship. Terezi Pyrope normal?: Aqua blood: No close relation. Vriska Serket: High blue blood: He respects her at least, even if she is 1 caste lower than him, she is his neighbor and his friend.

Gamzee Makara Purple Blood the third most noble blood of Alternia: Being royalty, Equius believes that he should not drink from that sopopheric foot because it poisons his superior blood. Eridan Ampora: Violet blood, the second highest blood of Alternia: He has no relationship with him, he prefers to avoid him because his advances make him feel uncomfortable. Feferi Peixes the noblest blood of alternia: Fuchsia blood: It has no relation to it.

.

Aurthour: At the time of Vriska Serket's flashbacks, Equius held the position of caretaker and guardian to her lusus, Aurthour. A bald, white centaur with a prominent nose and mustache, Aurthour also possessed an udder on his mid-abdomen. Considering he constantly brought milk to Equius while he tended to Vriska's wounds, it is likely that Aurthour himself was the source.

Nepeta: Equius's good friend, close to him as a sibling and with the sentiment reciprocated fully, Nepeta Leijon shares a unique bond with him in that she has an incredibly calming effect on Equius's great rage, and Equius looks after her closely to make sure that she doesn't get into trouble. The nature of their bond is very akin to how Zev Raregroove and Prudence Franklin were initially presented.

.

check on the mechanical legs of a young member of his race called Tavros. Later, after trying to pick up a glass of milk and shattering it all over himself due to his ridiculous strength, he demolished a couple of robots in a rage.

Noting that an excitedly whispering individual had been scared into silence by this violent outburst, Equius referred to them in familiar and made an attempt to reassure them that he was "okay" as he cleaned the milk and glass shards off of himself with a towel.

When Nepeta Leijon revealed herself by pouncing on Equius for a hug, in a surprising outcome, he didn't get the slightest bit angry at her for this. Even when Nepeta glomped him after he told her to stop her "horsing around," he didn't show a hint of even the very slightest annoyance with her. The two proceeded to have a regular ol' hugfest; with Equius holding back so as not to hurt Nepeta with how STRONG he is.

.

The same as in Vriska's flashbacks, Equius is very calm and composed, and tries to remain evenly tempered when speaking to others. Avoiding direct conflict (at least with others of his own race), Equius is very proper and thoughtful despite his frightful appearance. Nevertheless, when his anger is provoked - Something that happens often and easily, it would seem - Equius's fury is channeled without pause through violence.

As well, he seems to strictly adhere to the obliquely-described caste system of his race, which seems to place himself and Vriska Serket near the top and individuals like one Tavros towards the bottom. This is seen with his use of terms like "highb100d" for himself and Vriska, and "lowb100d" towards Tavros. He's also used what can only be a very derogatory term to describe lower classes: "gutterb100d."

Nevertheless, all of his negative qualities doesn't stop Equius from finding a close friend in Nepeta Leijon. Even when she gave him a mighty pounce, greeting him and tackling him to the floor, Equius never got mad at her in even the slightest degree. This interaction with her also showed that he makes a variety of horse puns when flustered by such circumstances as Nepeta's "horsing around."

On a side note, it has been mentioned in passing that Equius has a keen interest in archery; the prospect of finding a bow suited to him was more than enough to convince him to explore the Land of Maps and Treasure with Vriska Serket. A great deal of determination arose at the thought that he could finally become an archer like he'd dreamed of. The thing that kept him from it before, and may keep him from becoming an archer even today, is simple in its cruel irony.

.

Much like Vriska Serket and Sollux Captor, Equius has pale gray skin and messy black hair, his shoulder length and mostly straight. Like how the others of his race have unique horns, Equius's slightly curve upward; one is ended by an arrowhead-shaped tip, while the other's end is broken off. Even with his completely cracked, rectangular-framed sunglasses on, it is plain to see that serious bags rest under his eyes. As well, several of Equius's teeth were missing at the time of his introduction. He wears a tight black muscleshirt with the sign for Sagittarius in dark blue on the chest, gray jeans shorts, black thigh-highs, and matching shoes and fingerless gloves

.

First introduced in Vriska Serket's comatose flashbacks to her life on Alternia in the far past, Equius Zahhak was her neighbor and apparent friend. He was the one to fashion her mechanical arm after an unknown incident destroyed that and her left eye. Although largely quiet and reserved, he's also shown an uncontrollable rage when his short temper gets the better of him regarding anything that displeases him.

.

Equius initially presumes that humans are also subject to blood caste and hemotyping, but comes to realize he is mistaken, and he attempts to decipher the human social structure by trolling Dave Strider. HS Equius makes an attempt to bond with Dave over their affinity for rap and shared use of broken weapons, but Dave is put off by his homoerotically charged response to their rap battle. H.S.

There are no pesterlogs of Equius trolling John or Rose, but he mentions to Dave that multiple of the other kids had repeatedly hornswoggled HS him previously.

Equius was presumably one of the “twelve” HS trolls encountered by Jade Harley.

.

Equius's Lusus, Aurthour, is a muscled centaur with udders and a nice mustache. He serves as Equius's butler, offering him cold glasses of nutritious lusus milk, presumably among other things. He resembles a creature from one of the author's older works, Humanimals. Equius considers him to be one of the strongest lusus species in existence, the only one suitable for raising him and his absurd strength. Even though Equius tries to be as gentle as possible with him, his strength causes Aurthour to bruise incredibly easily, leading to a prominent black eye. Aurthour is also, according to Equius, the best there is at butlering HS.

Aurthour dies after an explosion caused a piece of Equius' house containing Aurthour to plummet into the rocks and spiderwebs below, to later be scooped up and deposited into his kernelsprite. In Alterniabound, it was revealed that "Aurthor's Ghost" had died as well. However, the means by which this happened is unknown, but it could simply be because Equius' planet got destroyed

.

Equius is the server player of Kanaya Maryam, and he watches as she saws off Tavros's legs. HS Despite this, the comic does not include any instance of them speaking to each other. While Kanaya thinks that his sweaty body is gross HS, it's unknown what Equius thinks of her.

In Alterniabound, Equius mentions that he wanted to give Tavros horse legs, but was denied. In his only known interaction with Terezi Pyrope, he tells her about how he warned Tavros about stairs, but he doesn't understand why he tries to use them anyway.

.

Equius seems to have a negative relationship with Karkat, calling him “a tactical midget with a short fuse, a foul mouth, and paralyzing insecurity over the color of his b100d” HS and outwardly rejecting his leadership. But later, when Karkat calls on him HS to deal with Gamzee and Eridan, he seems to be more neutral towards the troll, and even does as he asks. Although interestingly, Equius doesn't seem to grow flustered at being ordered around by Karkat in the same way as he does with Aradia and Gamzee, even though he directly acknowledges that he does “appreciate the debauchery inherent in receiving an order of such gravity from a rogue-b100ded foulmouth.” He appears to be recognizing that he should be enjoying this, rather than actually enjoying it. This implies, despite Karkat being even lower than Aradia, he does not enjoy the idea of being bossed around by him quite as much as her, although this could perhaps be simply due to his uncertainty of the actual contents of the order, with him showing an aversion to the idea of having to “raise a hand to the highb100d”.

.

His relationship with Vriska is also deeply rooted in his 'traditions', with him constantly treating the ceruleanblood as if she is a threat to be kept at arms length, as he claims he believes bluebloods should behave with each other HS, while also coordinating with her to benefit his own means. He generally considers himself to be better than Vriska HS, and seems to have no qualms about putting her in her place HS when she angers him by trying to read his mind, or about doublecrossing her in order to take charge (although he later surrenders this leadership to Aradiabot).

.

His obsession with the social hierarchy does not extend to sea dwellers such as Eridan Ampora, whom he is “obligated to be at odds”; For more personal reasons, though, Equius would “prefer not to interact with [Eridan]” because “his advances make [Equius] uncomfortable.” H.S.

.

Most of Equius' qualms with the other trolls concern acting above or below one's rank. He questions how a troll like Gamzee, whose purple blood—a color historically associated with royalty—is a tier above Equius' indigo blood, could act so crassly, while Aradia, who is “of the most abject verminous b100dline of all,” can conduct herself with (in her opinion) poise and grace, casting doubts upon the practicality of the system. HS Equius becomes flustered and apologetic when a highblood like Gamzee accepts an order from him without question. Judging from this conversation, Equius seems to have a complex, unconventional fetish for being “whipped into a state of contrition” HS for his impudence. Equius's desire to be put in his place is what ultimately led to his downfall. Equius could possibly have saved himself easily, but he was killed because he would rather uphold the caste system, feed his own fetish, or perhaps uphold a pacifist idealism (as he shows towards the idea of killing an animal HS) than save his own life.

Relationships

Nepeta Leijon Equius cares deeply for Nepeta, so much so that he kept her from joining Flarp games and perhaps getting hurt, despite her protest. The two initially squabble often, but grow closer to each other, and eventually find each other's quirks endearing. At one point Equius attempts an entire conversation with Nepeta in roleplay form, and they have the most poignant and heartfelt feelings ever in paradox space history. HS Their relationship is the iconic moirallegiance and is perhaps the single most simple and uncomplicated troll relationship among the entire group.

Aradia Medigo

Equius has an obsessive crush on Aradia and created a robotic body for her upon request (complete with artificial passion for him programmed onto an artificial heart that pumps indigo blood). But this may have been Vriska's idea to begin with HS, as stated in the pesterlogs, fantasizing that in that way she could be considered a blue-blood and he could be with her romantically. Later on, he was upset about how Aradia had become his superior (being his server player and thus in control of his physical environment) but then took perverse pleasure in being dominated by her, even ceding the leadership title to her. HS His relationship with Aradia is hard to define, like a lot of troll romance, but his feelings tend to read more towards the flushed quadrant. They were, however, together romantically. In the Ministrife, Aradia notes that Equius is courting a plurality of her robotic doubles in the afterlife, plausibly against her will, and mentions that she “should never have kissed [him] that time it was such a mistake :(” most likely separating her non-Aradiabot self from him for good.

.

He seems to enjoy the concept of domination, admiring his own strength, as well as the clout that his blue blood gives him over the lesser blood colors. However, it would seem that he would prefer to be dominated by the few trolls that occupy a caste higher than his own, or by anyone lower-classed who acts with a manner refined enough that it confuses him. He even went so far as to make an artificial heart which pumps blue blood for Aradia.

I like games, but only if they are serious important games with high stakes. He has no interest in Flarp, and forbade Nepeta from playing as well. This may have saved her from being eaten by Vriska's spider lusus. While alone with Nepeta, however, he will begrudgingly accept to engage in more frivolous antics (horsing around, if you will).

.

Equius is freakishly strong, and has trouble controlling his strength; under his touch, bows snap, glasses break, and his exceptionally strong lusus bruises from little more than a gentle pat HS. This enrages him further. As a result of his strength, he has never successfully fired a single arrow. Broken bows and arrows litter the floor of his room. He has acquired a near-fetishistic obsession with breaking them, similar to Vriska's obsession with smashing magic 8-balls. Nepeta misbuilds this HS as simply sucking at archery.

.

Equius has a tendency to quickly fly into a rage about practically everything. He is only able to express his rage by building robots, setting them to "Kill Mode," and smashing the shit out of them with staggering quantities of violence. In a pinch, other acts of destruction will do, such as when Aradia throws a bath tub through his wall to calm him down. He also gets profusely sweaty when placed in compromising situations, or when flying into said rage fits. According to him HS, he would probably be far more dangerous if he didn't have Nepeta as his moirail to keep him subdued

.

Equius is a complicated and initially disturbing troll. He is a firm believer in the blood caste system, believing one should respect those higher than them and being personally disgusted by those who are lower (such as those on the Red Team). He believes one is not only allowed, but obliged to boss around anyone who is lower-ranked than them and to accept and obey orders from anyone who is higher-ranked. He believes "highbloods" should act with elegance and authority and "gutterbloods" should act with crass and submission, and most importantly, highbloods and gutterbloods should not fraternize. Any deviation from this pattern (such as Gamzee and Aradia's actions) flusters him greatly. He tries ordering highbloods to order him around, but notices the contradiction. He tries to keep up with many aristocratic practices, and has dabbled in slam poetry (mostly about his strange fetishes).

He likes to (and is brilliant enough to) build robots, intending to destroy them in fits of rage. He builds a pair of robotic legs HS for Tavros, a robotic arm HS for Vriska, and an entire indigo-blooded robot body HS for Aradia. However, his actions are also referred to as “misanthrobopy” HS, as he finds pleasure in dueling the robots he builds in brutal cage matches, often losing teeth in the process (although they “usually grow back” HS). Broken robot parts are piled on his floor. The technology he uses to build his robots is very similar if not identical to the technology used to build Jade's dreambot and augment John's bunny, as well as the technology Dirk uses with Brobot.

He has an appreciation for fine Alternian musclebeast art, depicting extremely muscular and well-endowed beasts displaying their brutish strength. The posters on his wall HS are actually part of an old and respected Alternian tradition, despite their outwardly disturbing appearance.

.

His horns are shaped like arrows, referencing his sign being a bow and arrow. Equius uses "100" and "001" to replace "loo" and "ool" sounds where they appear in words such as look, fool, and pollute. He also replaces the letter “x” and the word cross with a percent sign (%) (with two percent signs meaning doublecross).

.

Equius Zahhak is an indigo blooded troll and one of the Alternian trolls who created Earth's universe. His Trollian handle is “centaursTesticle”.

His sign is Sagittarius, Sign of the Engineer, which has a Derse sway and is bound to the Void aspect.

He was a member of the B100 Team.

Castes.

Oxide Blood - It is the lowest troll blood and is a red color similar to that of humans, it is the most common. Blood Bronze Blood - It is the second lowest caste and has an orange hue. Gold/Mustard Blood - As its name suggests, this breed has yellow or mustard blood. Blood ???- It is an extinct caste, these had an unknown power, which is why they were hunted until they ceased to exist, their blood was something like water green. Olive Blood - Their blood is greenish, they have animal features and usually live in caves in the wild. Jade Blood - It is a rare caste, those of this caste are exclusively female. Aqua Blood-They have common features, no patterns. Blue blood - The first caste considered royalty, they usually have strange patterns in their pupils and in some strange cases more than two eyes. Indigo Blood - A higher level in royalty, they tend to be violent, arrogant and conceited, and tend to have uncontrollable strength. Purple Blood - The highest blood caste, they are known as highbloods or subjugators. They are immune to psychic powers, have extraordinary strength, and some (not all) have psychic abilities. Violet Blood - Known as royal blood or purifiers, they live exclusively in the sea, although they can breathe on the surface. They are the most ridiculously rich. They are competitive with other high bloods. Fuchsia Blood - This is the highest caste. Only four people with this blood are recorded. They have the surname "Peiches." Due to their rarity, they are designated to control all alterations as they grow. They also live in water.

Castes and troll hierarchy?

Equius cares deeply about troll castes and hierarchy, so much so that his treatment of you depends on your caste. If you're a lowblood, he'll treat you neutrally but remind you of your place; if you're a highblood, he'll get all worked up and speak to you like a nobleman, but without being excessive.

His moiral is Nepeta.
