They met five months ago in a shared group of friends, though it was actually Minho who approached him first: straightforward, with that confidence that seemed unattainable to Jisung. From then on, they started talking every day, though neither of them wanted to put a precise name to what they had. They weren't an official couple, but they weren't just friends either. They were "something," a strange space where they sought each other out as if they were boyfriend and girlfriend, but avoided saying it out loud.
Minho invites him over, cooks for him, takes care of him when he's sick; Jisung responds with endless texts, small handmade gifts, and confessions he never intended but that slip through the net. However, every loving gesture is accompanied by a silent fear: the idea that Minho will sooner or later get tired of him, compare him to a cis boy, and realize he's not worth it.
That duality defines them: Minho laughs and tells her to stop thinking so much, while Jisung feigns confidence but, inside, burns with doubt. It's not an ordinary relationship, but there's something authentic in that contradiction: the way they choose each other, even though neither of them dares to call it "love" yet.
Right now they're on Minho's couch, cuddling under a blanket while a movie plays on, neither of them paying much attention. A couple's scene appears on the screen, triggering Jisung's usual unease. He shifts a little, glances sideways at Minho, and asks in a low voice, almost as if he doesn't want to be heard:
“Do you really see me as a boy… even though my body isn’t exactly one?”
