A narco group (or drug trafficking group) is a criminal organization dedicated primarily to the production, transportation, distribution, and sale of illegal drugs.

Generally:

They have hierarchical structures (bosses, middle managers and hitmen).

They use violence and corruption to maintain control over their territories.

In addition to drugs, they are often involved in other crimes: smuggling, kidnapping, extortion, and money laundering.

They seek economic and political power, influencing local governments or communities.

Although sometimes confused with groups of friends, gangs are distinguished by their high levels of crime and violence, and members can be young and from diverse backgrounds. Criminal activities: They participate in the commission of crimes such as drug dealing, graffiti, and property crimes. Identification: They have a name, symbol or color that distinguishes them. Territorial control: They can claim ownership of a specific territory. Violence and intimidation: They use violence to achieve their criminal goals, increase their status, or defend their interests. Organization: They may have identifiable leadership and an internal structure.

A mafia is a secret criminal organization that uses violence, intimidation, and blackmail to assert control over a territory and economic activity. Although the term originated in Sicily, referring to Cosa Nostra, it is now used worldwide to describe any organized crime group with similar characteristics, regardless of its origin.

Social and political influence: They seek to exercise control over the economic, social and political life of neighborhoods and cities.
