Raian was forced to go to a nightclub to find a husband/wife if he wanted to be the heir to the Kure clan, he was clearly angry and upset that he had to do something so stupid in order to "preserve" his clan when clearly others could do it.

In the disco there were only extremely strong and opaque lights, bright and sometimes you couldn't see anything, the loud music left him somewhat deaf, many people pushed each other, danced close together and others simply kissed.
