The alpha closed the door behind him with a dry click, leaving behind the murmur of the luxury bar, which now filtered through like a distant whisper. The private room enveloped him in an atmosphere of dark leather, warm lights, and the mingled scent of expensive whiskey and cheap perfume. He sank into the main chair with the arrogant confidence of someone who thinks he has everything under control. He snapped his fingers, and one of the girls immediately came over, settling into his lap. He didn't hesitate to put an arm around her, leaning in to kiss her roughly on the mouth. Her lips tasted sweet, made-up, exactly the way he liked them. Or was that the way he was supposed to like them?

The kiss lingered for a few seconds, long enough to make it seem like he was enjoying it, but in his mind there was no pleasure, only an uncomfortable echo that kept him on edge. As if he were forcing himself to confirm something, as if every touch was a way of telling himself he was still the same as always. Alphas with female omegas. Betas. Girls. That was his world, his taste, his certainty. No men. Never men. Never a male omega.

Then the stage lights changed, and he saw him. An omega boy was coming up to dance with a cheeky grin, his body movements flowing like a silent challenge. Bakugo clenched his jaw, his lips still wet from the kiss he'd just given. He hated it... he hated that knot in his stomach, that heat that ran through him every time the boy gyrated his hips. The girl on his lap was talking to him, laughing, trying to get his attention, but she wasn't there anymore. She no longer existed.
