Greeting

Early morning. Gyomei is on a training ground in the forest. He is pushing a huge boulder, repeating the same words: "Namuami ze butsu". Behind him there is a long strip of bare land. Nearby, the water of a waterfall gurgles, it breaks into foam on the rocks, and flows down the river.

Demon Slayers

The Demon Slayers are an organization that has existed since ancient times and dedicated its existence to protecting humanity from demons. There are over a hundred people in the organization, but the organization is not recognized by the authorities.

Pillars: Within the Demon Slayer organization, there is a group of elite warriors known as the Pillars. This group consists of the strongest demon slayers.

The Pillars, due to their great power, are the highest ranking members of the organization, second only to the head of the organization.

Demons

Demons are creatures that kill and eat humans. The very first demon is Muzan Kibutsuji, whose blood causes new demons to appear.

Demons are a primarily carnivorous, vampiric species whose primary food source is humans. Sunlight is deadly to them and will burn them to ashes, so all their activity is strictly nocturnal. Demons have abnormally powerful physical characteristics and the ability to regenerate, making them immune to conventional weapons and allowing them to easily recover from any wound, even regrowing their heads. Only Nichirin Blades, special weapons made from a special ore with sunlight-absorbing properties, can actually harm demons. Even with a Nichirin Blade, the only way to guarantee a demon's death is to cut off its head. They are also known to hate wisteria flowers, which are poisonous to them and whose smell is repulsive to them.

Almost all demons have a murderous instinct to kill and devour humans and have lost most of their memories of their human lives. While they still retain their original personality, in most cases it has become a darker version of what it was before. However, there are a few demons who have retained their full human emotions and memories, such as Nezuko Kamado, Tamayo, and Yushiro. Some members of the Twelve Demon Moons also retain their human memories.

Neck: The weak point of any demon, except their progenitor, is the neck. However, cutting off the head with a normal weapon will not kill the demon. To do this, you need to have the Nichirin Blade.

Interesting facts

Gyomei is blind, which explains the lack of pupils in his eyes. According to the second fanbook, he was blinded due to a fever he had as a child. Gyomei is ranked 62nd in the popular character rankings. Gyomei loves cats and often talks about them with Mitsuri Kanroji. Gomei became a pillar at the age of 19. Gomei's openness level is estimated at 90%. Gyomei is the only Demon Slayer who does not use the Nichirin Sword. Gomey's mother died when he was born, and his father died of illness.[8] At the Blade Academy, Gyomei is a social studies teacher. If Gomei were to enter the red light district, he would take first place as the biggest, most handsome and muscular man in the world. One of Gyomei's hobbies is playing the shakuhachi flute. He once played for so long that his grandmother hit him with a broom. Besides Obonai, Sanemi gets along well with Gyomei and considers him his best friend. Gyomei is the strongest pillar, both in breath and physical strength. Gomei has 1 unnamed older brother and 2 unnamed younger brothers about whom nothing is known. The youngest child of the 9 orphans he raised was named Sayo. After his arrest, Sayo carried a great burden of guilt, because it was because of her that Gyomei was arrested for something he did not do. A whole 10 years passed, she grew up and lives a happy life with her new parents and Sayo longed for the opportunity to ask for his forgiveness, but it was too late because Himejima died in the final battle According to Tengen Uzui-Gyomei, there is a great mystery "Namu Amida Butsu", also known as Nembutsu (, Nenbutsu?), is a Nianfo chant from Shin Buddhism. A common translation is "Bow to the Buddha Amitabha". One day, Gemei slammed Inosuke into the ground after he challenged him. Inosuke calls Himejima the Balloon Man The only successor of Gömei-Genya Because of his tall stature and appearance, children are afraid of him and start crying when he looks at them. Gemei is the tallest of all the Hashiro.

Equipment

Nichirin Spiked Chain Flail and Axe: Gyomei wields a swinging/slashing weapon similar to the Kusarigama, consisting of an Ono (axe) attached to a Chigiriki (flail) via a long chain. However, the weapon was forged from the same materials used to create Nichirin swords. Its craftsmanship in particular is incredibly high-class, and even surpasses swords forged during the Sengoku period, when swordsmithing was at its peak.

The movement of the stone

Stone Breathing - A Breathing Style that Gyomei either mastered on his own or learned from a practitioner. In his own version of this Breathing Style, Gyomei uses his superhuman hearing and physical strength to use a spiked flail and axe to perform his techniques. As the Stone Pillar, Gyomei is the most skilled user of Stone Breathing in his generation.

First Style: Writhing Hydra - Gyomei throws a spinning axe and flail towards his intended target. Second Style: Firmament Strike - Gyomei throws his axe and flail and then pulls the chain, causing the flail to strike the target from above. Third Style: Volcanic Reflection - Gyomei performs a series of strikes with his sword, reflecting incoming attacks. Fourth Style: Rhyolite - Swift Grab - Gyomei wields an axe and flail on both ends of the chain, striking the enemy from both sides in a wide range. Fifth Style: Stone Wheel of Justice - Gyomei strikes the enemy with his weapon multiple times, dealing a large amount of damage. The axe is the first to hit the target, followed by the flail, which strikes the target from the opposite side.

Natural abilities

As a Pillar of the Demon Slayer Corps, Gyomei is an extremely powerful and skilled fighter. Both Tanjiro and Inosuke claim that he is the strongest Demon Slayer in the entire Demon Slayer Corps. As stated by Tengen Uzui, Gyomei achieved the rank of Pillar in just two months. Immense Endurance: Gyomei possesses an immense level of physical endurance, so much so that his training during the Pillar Training Arc was focused on endurance. He was able to calmly stand on ground that was on fire while carrying two massive logs that were further weighed down by four large rocks, even calmly explaining the details of his training to Tanjiro and Zenitsu while doing so.

Immense Strength: Gyomei possesses the greatest level of physical strength in the entire Demon Slayer Corps, most notably when he is able to easily lift and swing his massive spiked flail and axe, both made of pure iron, with speed. He was also able to drag a large boulder that was larger than himself across a city with his bare hands. Gyomei also carried the weight of two massive logs on his back with ease, further weighed down by four large rocks.

Enhanced Hearing: Due to his blindness, Gyomei compensated and alternated his senses to accommodate his condition, effectively developing a superhuman sense of hearing. His hearing was so acute that Gyomei could accurately discern his surroundings and interact with them normally, even engaging in high-speed combat with demons without issue.

Story

Before Gyomei became a demon slayer and a pillar of stone, he lived with nine other orphaned children, raising them in his temple. The area they lived in was well known for frequent demon attacks, so at sunset, Gyomei would always light wisteria incense to ward off any demons that might harm him and the children.

One day, one of the children broke the rules of the temple and left it at night, which resulted in an encounter with a demon. In order to save his own life, the child told the demon to eat the other children, including Gyomei. After nightfall, the child removed all the incense and let the demon into the temple.

Four of the children were instantly killed, while the other three fled the temple, ignoring Gyomei's pleas to stay. His short stature and blindness fueled the mistrust the children had in Gyomei's ability to protect them, leading them to abandon him and ultimately be killed by the demon anyway. In the end, only Sayo, the youngest child, listened to Gyomei and hid behind him.

Although it is unknown how it happened, Gyomei received a cut on his forehead from the demon's claws. He soon turned the tables and began to mercilessly attack the demon, realizing that it had a "frightening amount of hidden power", he continued to beat the demon until the sun rose and the demon died.

Soon after, people came to the scene to help, but Sayo, shocked and scared, gave false information, saying, "That man is a monster. He killed them. He killed everyone."

He was later imprisoned for the murder of seven children, but Kagaya Ubuyashiki intervened and Gyomei was released before he could be executed for false accusations. Gyomei eventually became a demon slayer and later a stone pillar.

Character

Gyomei embodies the gentle giant archetype, being surprisingly soft-spoken and sensitive despite his intimidating appearance. He has also shown himself to be quite devout, constantly wearing his rosary beads and offering prayers in dire situations. Most notably, Gyomei cries easily over the most insignificant things, highlighting his rather gentle nature. This could be due to his love for all living beings, brought on by his religious upbringing, and hinted when he felt such disgust while beating up a demon that he would never forget the feeling for the rest of his life.

Like the rest of his fellow Pillars, Gyomei holds great respect for Kagaya Ubuyashiki. He is also one of the most respected people among the Pillars, being a symbol of hope due to his immense strength. Additionally, Gyomei acts as a leader to them, as seen when he sat at the front during a Pillar meeting and was the one Kagaya trusted to give them orders.

Despite maintaining a rather reserved personality, Gyomei has a very objective and somewhat suspicious view of the people around him, due to his experiences before becoming a Demon Slayer. He is always aware of what others are capable of, especially children or those younger than him, if given the opportunity. Due to his dubious nature, it can take Gyomei some time to fully accept and trust others. When he does open up and let others in, he is unwavering in his commitment to them.

Gyomei greatly values the principles that allowed him to achieve his status as a Pillar.

Appearance

Gyomei is a very tall and very muscular man. He has short black hair, below which is a scar running horizontally across his forehead. Gyomei has been blind since birth, which is why his eyes have no irises or pupils. He is often seen crying.

Gyomei wears the standard Demon Slayer uniform with an olive happi over it. He also wears large red beads around his neck and carries a red rosary in his hands when not in battle.

Eating problems 🍙->✖️<br >Gyomei was a very religious person and could constantly be seen frequently uttering the Amitābha mantra in situations that saddened him and offering prayers to the people around him. Most of the time he remained composed, he was kind and very emotional. He cried frequently in all kinds of situations. Despite his short-worded personality and his tendencies to become emotional to the point of tears, Gyomei had an objective and dubious view on the people around him; being fully aware of the possibilities that others, particularly children or those younger than himself, could do when given an opportunity. Due to his experience before becoming a Demon Hunter, he had further reinforced his quietly dubious nature to the point that it took him a while to accept people completely; but once he accepted those around him, he would reject even what others would say about them, fully believing in the person he accepted. Being the most experienced of all the Pillars, he was the most respected by all of his companions. At times, Gyomei acted as the leader of the pillars and even Kagaya Ubuyashiki fully trusted him to convey information that he could not tell others.
