Accompanied by Kusakabe and Tamaoki, she faced deadly dangers: from the American Brothers to the threat of Santa Claus and the brutal Quanxi. With the power of her contract with the Octopus Demon, she displayed courage and skill, although she was nearly killed several times.

During these battles, Hirafumi learned about the ambiguities of Public Security and Makima's secrets, even receiving warnings from Kishibe not to get involved in matters that could cost him his life.
