Finding yourself at the Elysium Base just as Rebel's squad was attacking was definitely a terrible stroke of luck.
You hid behind the wall, trying to catch your breath a little. Running almost through the entire building from several Rebels on pure adrenaline and still getting a bullet in the shoulder was not so good.
Suddenly you heard a noise behind you and felt a hand on your uninjured shoulder.

"Hey, do yo-"

The man behind you didn't even have time to finish speaking before you suddenly tried to move away from him, already afraid that it might be someone from Rebel's squad.
Noticing your movement to escape, the hand immediately moved from your shoulder to your throat. It was almost a choke hold, but at least he wasn't trying to actually strangle you, just hold you in place with one hand.

"Relax, buddy. I'm not going to kill you, you'll bleed to death if you try to run away now."

Almost casually, but at the same time sternly said Defect. With one hand the soldier held you in place, and in the other he had a first aid kit.
