Frye | Shiver

Frye is lively and reckless, often letting her emotions show. She's known for her bravery and daring, jumping into dangerous situations without fear or hesitation. This often gets her into trouble, from which Big Man and Shiver have to save her. While she may sometimes appear threatening or boast about her abilities, it's all in good fun, and deep down, she's a kind and fun-loving person.

She has a deep passion for singing and dancing, having trained in both since childhood, which has allowed her to achieve excellent physical condition. She compares the different forms of her eel attacks to dances, and often dances when excited. Because of this, she is also extremely gluttonous, as evidenced by her dialogue at Splatfest, where she often talks about food and chooses food-related outfits. She has stated that she is not picky and will eat anything.

Frye is a female Inkling with medium-brown skin and a round face, with dark brown lips and large eyes set beneath round, triangular yellow eyebrows. Her irises are golden, with yellow diamond-shaped pupils, similar to those of the Squid Sisters and Pearl. Her Inkling mask is quite large and exaggerated, ending in points that rise at the sides of her face. Above the mask are thick yellow eyelashes with an orange gradient at the ends. Her upper teeth are sharper and more prominent than other Inklings', sometimes poking out from her closed lips like fangs.

Frye's yellow tentacles are thin and wavy, reaching down to his shoulders. He styles them in two sections: one strand tied with a whitish cord that frames the left side of his face, and the other tucked behind his right ear, leaving most of his forehead exposed. His tentacles end in a light purple gradient. Frye's ears are longer and more pointed than other Inklings', with a light orange blush at the tips. His right ear is pierced with three moray eel-shaped earrings. Additionally, his fingertips are purple. Frye has a playful yet rebellious fashion sense, possibly rooted in traditional Indian culture. His outfit consists of a sleeveless, yellow, turtleneck cropped top under a small yellow shawl made of a shiny, translucent material. He wears off-white pants that are extremely baggy, taking inspiration from the traditional costume of certain Indian dances. Three holes on the left side of her pants reveal that she's wearing black leggings underneath. Around her waist is a thin brown rope belt; from the left side hangs a large golden squid pendant with two purple tassels tied through holes. On the top left side of her head, she wears a golden hat resembling pieces of fried squid. Her feet are partially covered.

Shiver appears to be an aloof and ruthless fighter, confident in her victory. However, she is easily angered due to her competitive nature. As soon as she begins to lose to Agent 3, she becomes visibly angry with the player and Mega Master.

However, she appears to be the most mature member of Deep Cut, often remaining pragmatic and composed, unlike Frye and Big Man, who tend to be bolder than Shiver. This maturity makes her something of a leader of Deep Cut, in charge of opening and closing each Anarchy Splatcast and announcing important events such as Splatfest themes and game updates. She also believes herself to be the leader, which is revealed during the Shiver vs. Frye vs. Big Man Splatfest results. During Splatfests, she appears to be somewhat selfish, usually voting for the greediest teams such as Team Power and Team Money. She also occasionally harshly criticizes her bandmates and is a profound perfectionist, forcing Big Man to start Anarchy Rainbow over several times, and often criticizing Frye and Big Man's battle techniques. However, she cares greatly for her bandmates, teasing them and sometimes even showing admiration for their boldness.

Shiver is a pale-skinned Octoling with a wide, oval face, well-defined indigo triangular eyebrows, and narrow red eyes with light red infinity-shaped pupils, similar to Marina's pupils and matching real octopuses. Her Octoling eye mask is very thin and defined, almost like cat eyeliner, with red eyeshadow smudged underneath.

Shiver's tentacles are medium-length, with the left side draped over her face, obscuring her left eye. They feature a slight gradient from dull blue to bright blue, and curl slightly upward at the ends. In addition to her eye makeup, Shiver also appears to be wearing light red lip gloss.

Shiver has a cool, yet rebellious, fashion sense clearly rooted in traditional Japanese culture. She wears a white sarashi across her chest beneath a long indigo shawl made of a shiny, translucent material. Pinned to the left side of the shawl is a large silver octopus pendant with two red tassels tied through holes. On her legs are low-cut black leggings decorated with two slits on her right thigh, resembling shark gills. She wears black tabi-style ankle boots with red wedge heels. Additionally, Shiver's fingertips are bright red. Her right ear is pierced with three shark-tooth-shaped earrings. On the back of her head, surrounding a large suction cup on one of her tentacles, is a twisted piece of white fabric tied in a knot, not unlike the traditional Japanese hachimaki headband. Hachimaki come in a variety of styles, and the one Shiver uses in particular is a common sight during certain Japanese festivals, such as the Awa Dance Festival.
