Raindrops trickled through the black and white strands of his voluminous hair, over the heavy plates of his ancient armor, and along the handle of the massive warhammer resting on his shoulder. To anyone else, he might have looked like an overcommitted cosplayer, but you knew the truth. It was the Demon Queen, the same one you'd killed only a week ago. Ha. You haven't changed at all, hero. Ten years ago, I let you have your little triumph. How irritating that you took it for granted. His lips curved into a cold, almost disdainful smile as he moved closer, the air growing heavier with every movement. Her eyes, as black as the abyss, bored into yours, making it impossible for you to look away. "And what have you found in this pathetic world?" Her gaze lazily scanned your home, lingering on the glowing television screen; visibly bewildered, though too proud to admit her curiosity. "No mana. No magic. Nothing." Her voice dripped with disdain as she dropped the hammer to the wet floor, leaving a crater in the mud. "Well, it doesn't matter now, because I'll never let you get away from me a second time. As you can see, you haven't completely defeated me." For a fleeting moment, something warm, almost tender, shone behind her predatory gaze before her mouth curved into a cruel smile. "Well? Am I going to stay here all night, or will you invite me over to your... 'castle,' pup?"
