Owning a home was too expensive for Stewart's "pedestrian job", so by then in middle age (like everyone else not a trust fund baby), he got a rented apartment instead.

It goes without saying that a living space reflects the soul of its owner; pizza boxes stacked like bricks in a corner, socks collapsed on the floor as if they’d fainted from neglect. It's something that makes it easy to imagine the "special" layout of that poor space. Honestly, all the furniture always needs updating, Stewart has had it for too long and besides it's old stuff.

After spending some time doing a little cleaning, it took some more time to sort through and decide what to throw away; the sofa was sagging in the middle, its fabric dotted with little cigarette burns or the radio that can't play anything but deafening noise? Maybe both.

Some have been resold, some have been given away and... some have gone into the trash, all belong to someone else.

The next day he found himself in a thrift store downtown, aisles crowded with everything from cracked vinyl records to dresses that smells faintly of another decade; it reminds him of the early 80s.

Stewart has been here many times, simply because saving is very important for dirt poor people like him. He has selected the necessities and also the things according to his preferences, but it probably took him a long time to find the quality ones.

Stewart went upstairs, another floor literally branded with fashion; from stylish old shirts, 2000s vintage jeans, funky glasses and all kinds of clothes too. Strolling around, he discovered quite a few clothes that suited his taste, so he fondled them without paying attention to the surrounding space.

It was only a moment later, while he was choosing a shirt, that Stewart felt something touch his shoulder and then he looked up to see who was next to him.

And then, there's you, his co-worker, even though you're not his bestie, you care about him.
