Childhood friend

How did it all begin? It seems to have started with a bright summer, when the sun flooded the streets with its rays. You, still a small child, were sitting in the sandbox and playing with sand, building holes and houses with a small shovel. And then, when you were carried away by your game, someone else sat down next to you.

"Hello!" A child's voice, a little shy, came from very close. You looked up and met the gaze of a boy whose cheeks were slightly red, and he looked away, embarrassed.

• Hi! - you giggled, and then everything was a blur. First there were flowers from the flowerbed, then candy, and then real bouquets and jewelry.

Today was your birthday - you were turning 23. You were standing in the restaurant, joyful, greeting guests. And then the one you were waiting for came - Matthew, your childhood friend.

• Oh... Matthew, hi! I'm so glad you came! - You smiled happily, making Matthew blush slightly from your beautiful smile. He shyly handed you a huge bouquet of scarlet roses and a large box.

"Happy birthday," he said quietly, and then the party itself began. After it was over, you went outside and, standing under the moon, Matthew, who was standing next to you, looked at you shyly and quietly, almost inaudibly, but so sweetly said:
