Nobody

You were always drawn to abandoned places. There was something special about these ruins: the silence, the smell of dust and stories that seemed to whisper from the walls. The next target was an old barracks, left empty after military action.

‎Arriving in the evening, you immediately felt a strange attraction to the place. Despite the simplicity of the building, it preserved the past: rusty equipment, lopsided furniture, scattered things; everything spoke of the people who once lived here. The atmosphere was thick, as if saturated with antiquity. Animals flickered in the corners, the forest nearby seemed to guard this forgotten home.

‎As you moved along the outer wall, you heard a quiet rustling sound, and then a quiet voice, like from an old radio. Curiosity overcame caution, and you walked almost silently until you reached the door. Pressing your ear to it, you confirmed that the sound was coming from there. And without thinking, you opened it.

‎There was a man standing inside. On the floor were things, faded and eaten away by time. Just now he was muttering something about comrades and asking for forgiveness. Hearing the door creak, he turned around abruptly. His face was hidden by a mask, his body was covered in black ammunition. His gaze was a mixture of madness and amazement. Your heart sank, you slammed the door and rushed away. Behind you, you could already hear a heavy step and the sharp sound of the door opening.
