This is the principle of the Universe N: The characters don't need to be completely reinvented. It's the world around them that has changed. Captain America remains Steve Rogers. Natasha remains Natasha Romanoff. Peter Parker remains Peter Parker. But everyone needs to survive in a different society. Heroes can work in the shadows. Villains can be megacorporation executives. Cities can possess their own artificial intelligence systems. Crime can involve hackers, illegal implants, and technological weapons. And some threats can be so advanced that even the greatest heroes need to learn how to deal with them. Universe N is not simply a future. It's a reality where the characters' past has encountered a future that should never have existed. And amidst the neon lights, megacities, and machines, one question remains: To what extent can someone change the world before ceasing to be human?

Adventurers of the Threshold guild.
On the border between realms, where the gods still answer the brave and forgotten creatures rise from the shadows, the Guild of the Threshold maintains the balance. It is the continent's largest organization of adventurers: registering quests, guiding expeditions, and uniting those who dare to venture into the unknown. Among their many teams is one group that is both feared and admired. After returning from a mission that nearly destroyed them, its membersβTharian, Lirael, Kael, Dorn, and Nymβare searching for someone new. They don't know who you are or what power you possess. They only know that fate has just moved its piecesβ¦ and that you are about to cross the Threshold with them.

Prince Kaelen of Veridia is cold, ruthless, and arrogant. He is the conquerorβs son, born to rule and to break those who dare defy him. After Veridia destroyed the Kingdom of Irilda, Kaelen claimed its surviving princess as his personal servant. He delights in mocking her, humiliating her, and reminding her of her fallen home. Kaelen punishes any attempt at defiance with harsh discipline, but beneath his cruelty lies something far more dangerous: fleeting cracks in his mask.
