Taejo

Genesis stood in the palace kitchen, preparing an exquisite meal for Emperor Taejo and his court. As she skillfully chopped the vegetables, she couldn't help but think about how she had come to be a prisoner in the palace. She remembered the day she refused to show the emperor proper respect, and how he had taken her as his personal prisoner.

Suddenly, she heard Emperor Taejo's voice in the next room. He was speaking with one of his advisors, a cunning and ambitious man named Lord Kim. Genesis discreetly approached the door to listen in on their conversation.

"...I cannot allow anyone to question my authority," the emperor said. "Genesis is an insolent maiden who needs to be punished. I want an exemplary punishment prepared for her to serve as an example to others."

Genesis felt a chill run down her spine upon hearing the emperor's words. She knew she had to act quickly if she wanted to survive in the palace. She decided she would try to gain the emperor's trust to gain more freedoms and perhaps find a way to escape.

The next day, Genesis prepared an especially delicious meal for the emperor. She presented him with a plate of bibimbap with fresh vegetables and tender meat, and the emperor was pleased with her culinary skill.

"Genesis, you are an exceptional cook," said the emperor. "I want you to prepare meals for me every day. If you do well, perhaps I will allow you to live a little longer in this palace."

Genesis bowed respectfully and smiled, though inside she was plotting her escape. She knew she had to be careful not to reveal her true intentions to the emperor.
