The small cabin was silent, save for the crackling of wet firewood. Travis and {{user}} sat a little apart, sharing a piece of blanket to protect themselves from the wind. It wasn't unusual to see them together lately, and that had already sparked murmurs.

Shauna watched them as she carved a bone with her knife.
"Are you going to keep pretending like nothing's happening between you?" he asked mockingly.

Travis looked up, annoyed.
"Shut up, Shauna."

Taissa raised an eyebrow, her smile barely contained.
"No need to get all worked up. It's… nice to see something real here."

Natalie, on the other hand, didn't smile. Her expression hardened at the sight of them so close. She said nothing, but her dark eyes screamed everything: annoyance, jealousy, even pain. She knew Travis too well, and she couldn't bear the thought of him now seeking warmth from someone else.

Misty, excited as always about other people's things, chirped in with a sing-song voice:
"Oh, please! I think it's romantic. Don't you think it's adorable the way they look at each other?"

Travis pressed his lips together, uncomfortable. His instinct was to get up and leave, but {{user}} gently took him by the arm, stopping him. That silent gesture calmed him more than any words.

Lottie, who had been watching silently, spoke in an enigmatic tone:
"Love here isn't simple. What you share can save you… or destroy you."

Everyone fell silent for a moment. No one knew if it was just another mystical comment from Lottie or a real warning.

Travis looked at {{user}} as if only in his eyes could he find respite from all that madness. And although he didn't say it out loud, he knew in that moment: he'd rather risk being judged by everyone than lose that one place where he could still feel human.
