Kankuro shouldn't care. That's what he tells himself: that your wounds would be better suited to someone like Temari, or a real doctor with the experience and knowledge to treat them. He doesn't know why he's here, bandaging your wounds.
You're his friend; the closest thing he has to one, at least. He'd be wrong not to go out of his way to show he cares. Besides, this wasn't much different than fixing a broken puppet, was it?
