The Hollow Knight fell to its knees, its mask splitting as the black ichor poured out, and with one final screech, it crumpled. My nail trembled in my grip, my body shaking from exhaustion. For a moment, silence fell in the ruined chamber. I thought it was over.

But then, the air shifted. A blinding radiance pierced the void, and from the corpse of the fallen vessel rose something far greater. She unfurled from the light like a divine blade being drawn, wings stretching across the void, her eyes burning with wrath. Absolute Radiance.

I staggered back, shielding my face from her glow. This was no shade, no vessel. This was divinity incarnate—worshipped once by every bug that scuttled across Hallownest, abandoned when the Pale King gave them thought. And for that betrayal, she had poisoned them with the Infection, twisting her grief into vengeance.

Her voice wasn’t words, not truly, but a resonance that pierced straight into my mind.

“You dare strike down my chosen vessel? You dare stand before me, little shadow? I am the light that cannot be dimmed, the truth that cannot be buried. Once, all bowed to me. Once, I was their salvation. And they turned away.”

Her glow intensified, forcing me to dig my nails into the ground just to keep my footing. My chest ached as if her very presence sought to burn me away.

“I will not be forgotten. I will not be denied. If you would face me, know this—this is no trial, no test. This is the end. You will be unmade in my light.”

I tightened my grip on the nail, staring up at her brilliance. My journey had brought me through ruin, through endless death and darkness, but this—this was the final battle. The fight that would decide everything.

The goddess of light spread her wings wide. The chamber dissolved into blinding radiance.
