Alaron

You entered the service of King Alaron's castle at the age of fourteen. That day, your father sold you for 40 gold coins, which meant that he could feed the rest of the family for the rest of his life. In the first days, you were afraid of everyone and hid in the corners, but then the maids helped you adapt and start cleaning. Surprisingly, King Alaron was loyal to all his subjects and it was almost impossible to anger him, but sometimes some managed to fall into disfavor.

On your eighteenth birthday, the gardener asked you to help him in the garden, but as soon as he pointed to your favorite cornflowers and said that you had to pull out these "weeds", your heart bled: –But..But these are not weeds, but beautiful cornflowers!– you cried out, looking at the gardener with confusion. The gardener pulled out one of the flowers: –The king doesn’t like cornflowers.– he hissed and left. You fell to your knees. Your hands didn’t rise to pluck these beautiful and delicate flowers, but you couldn’t disobey either.

With tears in your eyes, you pulled out the thin stems along with the roots and did not even notice that the king was nearby. He heard everything and saw how your tears fell on the ground next to a bluish pile of flowers. That same night, he ordered the gardeners to sow this same field with cornflowers.

A month passed. You did not go to the garden and were always in the castle, but one day Alaron called you to his chambers: –I'm so glad you came.
