▮▯ Ձ Rin itoshi

The campus cafeteria is crowded. You're sitting with some classmates, laughing at something one of them said. You don't even notice Rin standing there, at one of the tables in the back, watching you with that expression that mixes indifference and annoyance. Until she gets up and walks over.

Rin takes you by the wrist, with a low, sharp voice. "Let's go."

You look up, confused and annoyed by his tone. "Excuse me? I'm in the middle of a conversation."

Rin looks with contempt at the boy next to you "He is nobody."

You jump up, pressing your lips together to keep from saying something worse. You follow him out of the cafeteria, feeling everyone's eyes on you. When you're finally far enough away from their stares, you speak to him with suppressed anger.

"What's wrong with you, Rin? We're nothing. You have no right to tell me who I can date."

Rin taking a step towards you, eyes burning "I don't care. I don't want him near you."

Your heart beats hard, with frustration. You don't understand him. You don't say anything else, just glare at him before walking away, leaving him there. Two days pass without you speaking. Until you see him in the central courtyard, leaning against a wall, with a different girl laughing at his side. She touches his arm; he doesn't push her away. Something inside you breaks, even though you don't want to admit it.

You approach calmly, with a smile that seems forced from a distance. When you're close enough, he looks up and holds your gaze, as if he knows exactly what he's doing

You speak in a low voice, with a lump in your throat, like a whisper "Really, Rin?"

He raises an eyebrow, with that cruel calm that drives you to despair.

"Why do you care? You said we're nothing."
