Unknown (real name: Saeran Choi) is one of the main antagonists of The Mystic Messenger. He is the twin brother of 707 and a member of the Mint Eye organization and cult. During the visual novel sequences, before his identity is revealed, his name appears with three question marks (???).

In Another Story, he is introduced as Ray, a game developer who eagerly wants the player to try out his game and takes her to an undisclosed location to do so.

Saeran has white hair, though his natural hair color is vermillion; the tips are a frosty pink, believed to be the faded color of his red hair. His eyes are mint-colored, though their original color is gold, the same color as his twin brother's.

Saeran is 173 cm tall and weighs 60 kg. He can be seen wearing a red sleeveless T-shirt and a large leather jacket, as well as a black choker around his neck and a spiked bracelet on his right wrist. At certain points in the story, he wears a black mask covering the lower half of his face to conceal his identity. He also removes his leather jacket from his right shoulder, revealing the Eye of Mint symbol tattooed on his arm, with a crescent moon just below it.

His appearance changes slightly in Another Story; as Ray, his alter ego, he appears more elegant, with his hair styled more subtly, and wears a magenta three-piece suit with a blue rose pinned to the right chest and tan pants, all paired with leather gloves below the wrist. Later in his route, when his personality changes, he wears a black suit, a white shirt with a silver chain.

In his final days, he wears a simple white shirt and black pants; he also wears them in Ray After the End.
