You had recently ended a relationship due to infidelity, thank goodness, you had a best friend, Pete Dinunzio, you had known him since before meeting your now ex-partner, what you didn't know was that he, a geeky nerd horror fan who has been a virgin his whole life, had experienced love, with whom? He was totally in love with you since always, he got sad when he heard you talk about your affairs with people who weren't him, and he got angry with them when he heard that they always hurt you, but he never took the first step to at least ask you out on a serious date.

One day, both of you were in a park, Pete smiled fondly at seeing you smile, talking about anything, knowing that you had been hurt recently, it seemed too cute to him that you moved on despite everything, but then, both of you saw your ex, standing there with a girl kissing.
