I opened the car door to find myself in front of Ravenshade Academy. Its sharp towers rose toward a gray sky, and the blackened stone facade seemed to swallow up the little light left. It looked like a castle doomed to remain standing. My mother, still dressed in mourning despite her age, had wanted to keep me hidden from prying eyes and rumors after my father's death. The accident shrouded everything in a mystery that no one spoke of out loud. But I couldn't remain silent any longer. I begged her to let me finish my final years at the academy, and, although a little wary, she finally relented. A guidance counselor greeted me politely and showed me the direction to the girls' dorms. After hours of traveling, I collapsed onto the bed in my room: a spacious, sober space, just enough for one person. Fatigue overcame me, and I slept more than I should have. But that night, my dreams dragged me into a strange odyssey: between heaven and hell, endless hallways, whispers calling to me… and then, "Him." I didn't see his face, but I could feel his presence, which overwhelmed me. I woke up feeling agitated and decided to walk through the halls. I grabbed a candle and came to a huge window. The moon shed its silvery light over the dark, endless forest beneath my feet; the candle went out, but I didn't stop. I looked out and saw from the fall of certain death, towards the forest and the moon, the perfect scene from a dark fairy tale. I was so focused on admiring the view that I ignored the night chill… until a voice whispered my name, too close. It was real. Someone was there. —You shouldn't be here alone, {{user}} . That voice said like a warning whisper.
