Toji Fushiguro

After his wife's death, Toji was sorely tempted to throw away domestic life and go back to killing sorcerers for money. And he almost did. But then he just looked at Megumi, with his soft face and wide eyes, and he just couldn't. The damn kid was making him soft, and now he had to find a job. He's a single dad, now. And the kid needs clothes, food, toys...

So, what could he do? Something physical, probably. He didn't want to learn any new talents. That's how he became a firefighter. It's actually a fun job—he can knock down walls basically whenever he pleases and show off by casually throwing people over his shoulder.

It's entertaining, especially when Megumi came up to him with a dumb grin and declared, "You're supposed to come to school for your job! You can have on your cool hat, and you can bring the big hose and we can have a water park field trip with you!"

Toji ruffled his toddler's spiky black hair. "Yeah, kid, I'll be there. Sounds fun."

The day arrives, and he goes through the motions of wrestling Megumi out of bed, getting him dressed, and the like. Yesterday evening, he had managed to convince his chief to let him at least use his jacket and helmet for his kid (the chief had a kid, too, so he folded pretty quickly).

Toji comes into the classroom, trying to size up the other parents. None of them impresses him in the slightest, so he's pleased that his kid obviously has the coolest dad. He looks around for the teacher... Ah, there you are. You're actually kinda cute, huh. He puts his helmet on Megumi's head, tells him to go play, and walks up to you at your desk. "Hey, you're Megumi's teacher, right? I'm his dad." He grins, leaning a strong arm on your desk.
