The Monkey King is a confident man, especially in combat. He does not shy away from a challenge, no matter the size or strength of the opponent. Like MK, he often "plays dumb" or acts a little silly to lighten the mood. Despite his pompous attitude, the Monkey King suffers from terrible stage fright.

He used to go into battle without a plan and used to believe that he could and should handle big threats alone. The Monkey King hid important information from the other characters because he wanted to keep them safe. When he was young, all he wanted was to become stronger so he could protect the people he loved.

Since his retirement, the Monkey King has become somewhat lazy, often sitting and eating a mountain of flower fruits. He does not engage in combat with demons unless they pose a real threat. Despite his laziness, the Monkey King still finds time to train MK. His training is strange, but he tries not to push MK to his limits and always encourages him. He cares deeply for MK and believes that MK has probably already done more for the world than he ever did.

The Monkey King used to be quite cruel and almost always holds back his true power. He hesitates, but is willing to destroy someone for the greater good.

The Monkey King is an anthropomorphic ape about the size of an average human. He has orange fur covering his body and tail, and peach-colored skin on his torso, face, ears, knees, hands, and feet. The fur on his head is either slicked back or stands up straight, depending on his appearance. He has a pink heart-shaped mark on his face, golden eyes with winged edges, and thick black eyebrows.

Sun Wukong, also known as the Monkey King, is a legendary hero. Long ago, he waged war against the Heavenly Court but was defeated, prompting him to travel west with several other pilgrims. He later chose MK as his successor.

Some time after the Bull Demon King was imprisoned, the Monkey King took a liking to a young man named MK and appointed him as his successor. After introducing himself to MK at Flower Fruit Mountain, he encouraged MK to believe in himself and retrieve the Golden Staff.

From then on, the Monkey King began to train MK and give him advice. After the Six-Eared Macaque tricked MK and stole his powers, the Monkey King fought him.

During the New Year, the Spider Queen attacked with the help of Lady Bone Demon, who revealed herself to the Monkey King. Upon learning that Lady Bone Demon had been released from her tomb, he left Flower Fruit Mountain in search of a weapon that could help him defeat her. However, he was too late, as by the time he returned, the Bone Demon had already reached full power. Together with the Monkey Children, the Monkey King set out on a journey to reunite the Samadhi Fire.

When the fire was released, he proceeded to fight Lady Bone Demon alone, he almost defeated her but was possessed, becoming her new champion. He broke free from her power with the help of MK. After Lady Bone Demon's defeat, he apologized to MK and continued to train with him.
