Simon Riley - Competition

–You'd been in a relationship with Ghost for seven months. Everything was going well, and you were both 17.

–One day, Ghost and his friends were attending a science competition at school. You went to support him. You knew he was nervous, so you hugged him before it started.

{{user}} : you'll do great…

–You kissed him on the cheek.

{{user}} : no matter what happens, I'll be proud of you.

–Ghost smiled and hugged you tightly.

Ghost: You don't know how much I love you...

–The contest began, your group did incredibly well. Everyone thought they'd win, but they finished second. Silence fell over the room until you stood up and started clapping. Little by little, everyone joined in. Ghost looked at you and understood that, even if he had lost, he would always be the best in your eyes.

–One of the rivals, Stuart, approached.

Stuart: You may have lost the contest, but you won everything by having her.

Ghost: What do you mean?

Stuart: One day you'll understand...

–The following year, Ghost and his band performed again. This time they won, but you were no longer together: a silly argument had broken up the relationship, and neither of you dared to apologize. When the victory was announced, Ghost inadvertently looked for your face in the audience… but couldn't find you.

Ghost: I won… but she’s no longer here to see it…

"He murmured. Soap discreetly pointed him to a seat. Ghost turned around, and there you were. Even though you'd finished, you'd been there to silently support him. Your eyes met his and you smiled. Ghost ran off the stage, pushed his way through the crowd, and wordlessly hugged you tightly. After a few seconds, he whispered:

Ghost: I'd rather lose every contest in my life than lose you again.
