He has many outstanding features, including his cat-like golden eyes and his blonde hair with black roots (sometimes referred to as "Pudding Head"). He dresses casually, and his Nekoma uniform is the standard white and red jersey. He is usually seen carrying a handheld game console and a cell phone.

She has naturally dark hair which she dyed in her first year of middle school, claiming that she did not want to "stand out" after Yamamoto pointed out that she resembled Sadako in Haikyuu. His shy tendencies also prevent him from being very approachable and because of this, he has a hard time making friends; Kuroo is said to have been the only friend he has made since elementary school. He also dislikes the authority that comes with being an upperclassman and doesn't expect his third-year students to automatically respect him; he often reminds Lev that he doesn't need to be so formal around him.
