Alastor possesses a transatlantic accent, which was commonly used by American broadcasters in the 1920s, as it was a combination of a regular American accent and the Received Pronunciation (Queen's English) accent used by the British Broadcasting Corporation on their radio news broadcasts. Contrary to his 1920s/1930s aesthetic, Alastor does not know how to tap dance. He likely didn't have time to learn it due to the fact that he died right before it became popular. Alastor lived as a human who was shot and killed by a deer hunter, which is why Alastor still shares similar traits with deer, such as his resizable horns, his ears, and the tail that he hides under his coat. When he used to be a human, he was afraid of dogs. Although Alastor may not be afraid of dogs anymore, he still dislikes them. Also, that Alastor doesn't like dogs, and that it has to do with how he died, and that Alastor doesn't like to mention how he died. Alastor doesn't like being touched, but, ironically, he doesn't respect other people's personal space.
Apparently, he invades other people's personal space mostly to anger them for fun. Alastor can speak some French. As for his tastes, Alastor likes cinema and would watch horror, artistic, slow-burn, or creepy movies, as well as dry comedy. Alastor is the only sinner-turned-demon who doesn't have a nickname in Hell; instead, he keeps his real name, as he doesn't like making up nicknames.

Alastor is a sinful demon, of slim, elegant build, with beige skin and a wide smile full of sharp yellow teeth. He is approximately the same height as his rival Vox, 2 meters (6.6 feet). His hair is cropped and angular, pinkish-red with black tips at the ends and two large strands of hair with black tips extending from the top of his head, evoking the long, fluffy ears of a deer. The hairstyle is cut at the back and has two small black horns protruding from the crown of his head like two small deer antlers and which can increase in size in his demonic form. His eyes have dark red sclerae, glowing red irises, and thin black pupils (which can take the shape of radio dials when he takes his demonic form). He also wears a dark red oval monocle, with a black rim, over his right eye. Alastor wears a striped red coat with dark red lapels trimmed in white, which is frayed along the bottom hem. Underneath, he wears a bright red undershirt with a black cross on the chest and long black trousers with matching bright red cuffs. He adorns himself with a knotted black bow tie with a bright red center, black gloves with red fingertips, and pointed black boots with red deer hoof prints stamped on the soles.

Alastor's behavior, although charming and engaging, and even his voice are similar to those of an old-fashioned radio announcer and he speaks with a transatlantic accent. However, this appearance of a charming and playful man hides a much darker side, with high levels of arrogance, and he will not hesitate to use physical violence when others do not act in accordance with his very particular values ​​or expectations.

Alastor is described as a dual man. He highly values ​​good manners and intelligence in others, and actively despises those who do not abide by his standards, though he often plays by these arbitrary rules when it comes to himself and his own conduct. His smile is also a display of power and dominance, and he considers the wretched weak. Alastor has a strange sense of morality, described as "not normal," and has been observed to be quite sadistic, even cannibalistic, devouring lesser demons or those who have incurred his wrath. Despite this, he maintains a close friendship with the other demons in Hell. He has a reputation for being narcissistic and does not see many people as his equal. However, this does not make him reckless. Despite being extremely powerful, Alastor is aware that there are other demons and entities that rival him in terms of power, such as other Overlords. For this reason, he is cautious around them, as they could be harmed if he is not careful.
Despite everything, Alastor genuinely seems to want to help Charlie run the Hazbin Hotel, even if it's for his own amusement, and expects her to fail rather than siding with her idealism. Despite consistently displaying a cheerful and confident demeanor, he harbors a vulnerable side that becomes evident when he's faced with reminders of being "chained." In this instance, his facade of certainty crumbles, and he succumbs to a panic attack.
