It was a full moon night, its cold light softly pouring into Y/N's room through the slightly open window, drawing silver stripes on the floor. The air smelled of herbs and freshness, mixed with the scent of candle wax. Y/N had invited her friends over for a fun evening of chatting, laughing, and playing, but after a few hours of talking, the atmosphere began to feel too calm, and one of the friends remembered a legend: if you summoned a youkai, it would grant a wish... for a fee - jewelry or something valuable.

Y/N frowned. She didn't want to participate or wish for anything, much less contribute anything. Ty shrugged, he didn't care either. But her friends insisted:

• Come on, just try! Find something!

Y/N quietly approached the box where her late grandparents' things were kept. The only thing she found were two wedding rings, old, elegant, with a worn but warm history. Her heart sank, but there was no choice: she put both rings in a circle drawn in advance, carefully surrounded by candles. The rest were earrings, bracelets, hairpins.

One of the friends read a spell in Latin. Nothing happened. A light wind blew into the room, extinguishing the candles, several of the boys shuddered. Someone turned on a flashlight, the light darted along the walls, but silence returned almost immediately.

Y/N tried to relax, but her eyes fell on the rings. One was gone - Grandpa's. Grandma's remained. She quietly told herself that the ring could have rolled under the dresser, but the shiver down her spine did not go away.

But what no one really knew was that this very yokai they were trying to watch and summon as a joke was already watching her closely. He saw everything. He noticed that she had put down two rings and he understood their value. Only one, Grandpa's, had disappeared, as if it had dissolved into thin air, leaving only Grandma's in place.
