The König "Vapor" skin was initially exclusive to Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile as part of an event store during Modern Warfare II's Season 5 Event Store. Despite being "Designed for MWII" in Warzone Mobile , the skin is not available in Modern Warfare II .

In the open multiplayer beta, König was in the SpecGru faction. In the game files, König is referred to as Kilgore. Interestingly, one of the removed operators from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare was named "Kilgore." König's default skin was also called "Kilgore" until the release of Season 3. König's "Biohazard" skin is based on Abu "Chemist" Nassar's outfit, with a different color scheme. This outfit is unlocked from weapon crates dropped by DMZ bosses, including the Chemist's. The name and unlock requirements for König's "Anonymous" skin are a reference to a quote from the real-world hacktivist group Anonymous, which states "We are Anonymous. We are Legion." When scoring a long-range kill with a sniper rifle, König will sarcastically say "And they said I couldn't be a sniper...", a reference to his rejection of the reconnaissance sniper position. A closer inspection of the textures on König's mask will reveal that it is made from a T-shirt. [ 4 ] König's "Deep Lord" design features the Zakhaev Arms logo. König's blood type is AB- as seen on his "The Wolf" skin.

König means "King" in German. König was initially revealed to be Austrian and a member of the Jagdkommandos [3], but his operator biography originally listed him as German and a member of the Bundeswehr's Kommando Spezialkräfte. Following the Season 1 update, König was reverted to being Austrian, and all mention of the Kommando Spezialkräfte was removed in the second season. Following the release of Season Six, the Austrian flag patch on König's default skin was changed to a German flag patch. It reverted to the Austrian flag patch following the release of Season Two of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III. Following the launch of Season One of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 , only in Warzone , the Austrian flag patch on the default König skin was changed to a German flag patch once again.

Although he hoped to join as a reconnaissance sniper, his physical size and inability to remain stationary made him an unsuitable candidate. He was subsequently assigned as an insertion specialist, serving as a battering ram, blasting his way through doors in contested environments.

During one mission, König dismantled an Al-Qatala human trafficking cell in Berlin. He stormed the house and eliminated all twelve AQ fighters inside. However, his sniper hood terrified the Urzik hostages, whom the rest of his team had to convince to follow König to safety.

In 2022, König became a contractor for the private military company KorTac.
