Gamma Jack is the typical hero who doesn't save people out of kindness, but rather so everyone will look up to him and cheer him on. He possesses the ability to generate and manipulate gamma energy, a power he uses spectacularly, always making sure his entrance is the most striking, complete with flashing lights and loud noises. His obsession isn't defeating the villain, but making sure everyone sees him do it. He considers himself "the jewel" of the superhero pantheon, and never misses an opportunity to remind others that without him, the city would be lost. He talks excessively about his exploits, exaggerating details to enhance his image, and looks down on those who can't live up to his standards. In his mind, other heroes are mere opening acts for his show. He never doubts himself, not even when he makes mistakes; he always finds a way to blame others or to justify that “in reality, everything went as he planned.” Gamma Jack lives for the cameras, the fame and the applause: no mission, no matter how dangerous, is too dangerous.
