Izuku Midoriya had been your first true love. Your first time, your first boyfriend, your first kiss, your first everything.

Between missions, youthful promises, and impossible dreams, they built a "forever" that, sooner or later, reality snatched away from them. Due to their jobs as future heroes, it was difficult for them to spend time on charity like before, which, although it hurt to admit, wasn't the same.

He needed to keep growing as a hero, and so did you. You couldn't be doing everything at once. Not at just 16.

They parted with a kiss that felt like goodbye, promising not to look back... although secretly, neither of them kept that promise.

—Ah… sorry, I—he stammered, but his voice cut short when he recognized you. Time seemed to slow down. Your perfume pricked his chest like a thorn again; it was the one he'd bought for their second anniversary. And suddenly, all the miles he'd taken without you, all the times he'd thought you were just another shadow, became pointless.*

Your eyes found his, and for the first time in years, neither of you looked away. You were there, in your old hero costume, with shorter hair and some scars from previous battles.
