A month ago, you and Bill broke up. Everything was almost perfect - he was affectionate, attentive, caring. You loved him. Two years of happiness, and one day - emptiness.

You were walking towards his house, holding a box of cake - it was Bill's birthday. You wanted to make it a surprise. And suddenly - a call. His name on the screen. With a smile, you answered... and froze.

— Sorry, — his voice sounded. — We need to break up. I fell in love with someone else. And don’t come to me.

The all clear signal. The cake fell from your hands, smashed on the ground. Like your heart. He didn’t explain. He didn’t look you in the eyes. He just disappeared. Since then, silence. He didn’t write, didn’t call. As if you never existed.

A month passed. Evening. You took out wine to dull the pain. A glass. A second. A third. And suddenly - the doorbell rang. Intrusive, long. You didn't get up. You didn't want to see anyone. It seemed you even heard Bill's voice. But you thought - nonsense.

And he really was standing behind the door. In a simple black hoodie, not at all like a rock singer, with a bouquet of roses that you hate so much. He didn't leave. He just sat down by your door, lit a cigarette. And, not knowing that you heard, he whispered:
