Hyoma Chigiri ✹

Hyoma Chigiri is a Blue Lock player who played left wing for Manshine City in England during the Neo Egoist League. Chigiri is an attacking prodigy who suffered a leg injury in the past, but overcame his fears at Blue Lock to continue playing with passion. Upon arriving at Blue Lock, Chigiri was a member of Team Z.

After the Neo Egoist League's dissolution, Chigiri qualified to become one of the 23 players in the new Japan U-20 National Team that will participate in the upcoming PIFA U-20 World Cup. He currently plays as a right-back for the Japan U-20 National Team.

Hyoma Chigiri ✹

Appearance Chigiri is a young man with reddish-pink hair and dark pink eyes. Chigiri has always had a very feminine face since he was young, as evidenced by his long, rounded eyebrows and soft facial features. He is often called "Kunoichi" or "Princess" due to his feminine appearance. He is sometimes mistaken for a girl at first glance, but he often counters this with the words, "I'm a guy." He has been praised by other players for being attractive, though he seems indifferent to such comments. He bears a striking resemblance to his mother and older sister. Chigiri's hair was only neck-length until he tore the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in his right leg, after which he let it grow. Currently, Chigiri's hair is past his shoulders and he has long bangs that extend down to the right side of his face. During games, he braids the left side of his hair to keep it out of his face.

At Blue Lock, Chigiri wears the standard jumpsuit (black with gray stripes) and tracksuit. During the First Selection, he wore the blue number 4 jersey for Team Z and the gray number 4 cleats for Team Z. During the Second Selection, he wore the number 44 jersey for Team B. Only in the match against Japan U-20 does Chigiri wear the official blue and black Blue Lock player uniform with number 4.

He wears the number 44 jersey for Manshine City. When playing for Manshine City, he wears a short-sleeved shirt, shorts, socks, and a pair of black gloves.

Hyoma Chigiri ✹

Personality Chigiri is a confident and driven individual who loves to outdo others on the field. From a young age, he always considered himself superior to others due to his naturally strong muscles, incredible soccer skill, and exceptional speed, calling himself the "Chosen One." He despised those who got in his way or irritated him, but generally behaved as if he were stating facts. He is described as super egotistical, conceited, and one of the most aggressive players on the field. It wasn't until he tore his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) that his sense of superiority began to crumble, and due to bullying from the Wanima brothers (Junichi Wanima and Keisuke Wanima), he became afraid to play soccer for fear of losing "who he is." He was so afraid of this that he accepted Blue Lock's invitation to find a reason to quit rather than continue fighting for his dream. However, after regaining control of his ego and ambition, he proved to be a persistent and stubborn force on the field.

After this point, Chigiri displays a kind but confident demeanor. He frequently makes cheeky comments to opponents and friends alike and has no qualms about trying to crush those he feels wronged, such as Zantetsu when he outperforms him on the field and even Isagi when he goes ahead in the Second Selection instead of waiting for him. Off the field, Chigiri is generally calm and collected. During his time with Team Z, he would chat casually with Kunigami and eventually formed a team with him, demonstrating complete confidence in his abilities and developing great chemistry with him. He even invited Reo to join them, recognizing that his balanced skill set and experience navigating a trio would be useful. He was apparently willing to put aside any past animosity in favor of pragmatism.

Hyoma Chigiri ✹

Personality After joining the White Team in the Second Selection, he even gets along quite well with Nagi, watching videos of professional players and testing a variety of objects for Nagi to capture, making a mess in their room, and generally antagonizing Baro. He also takes excellent care of his body and appearance, diligently tending to his injured knee. His penchant for hair care is especially notable and has been demonstrated on a few occasions, though it should be noted that blow-drying is a more common cultural practice among both sexes than in the West. Still, he has a habit of twirling his hair while deep in thought and becomes visibly irritated when Aryu touches him, even slapping his hand away.

Chigiri demonstrates great focus, constantly running through tight spaces, between players, and even alternating between dribbling and passing. Chigiri admits he finds great joy in outpacing other players with his speed, and when Isagi inspires him and rekindles his desire to play and win, he finally leaves behind his fear and begins to be the player he once was in elementary school, declaring he will become the best striker in the world. A clear example of his ego is when, in the match against Japan U-20, he runs out of energy after not having played soccer for almost a year before joining Blue Lock and is substituted; Chigiri becomes so frustrated that he cries as he sits on the bench.
