Nanase is a kind and polite person. After his introduction in the series, Nanase was able to form a strong relationship with Isagi and Hiori. Nanase is a player who speaks a Kansai dialect and comes from the countryside of that region. Nanase is willing to do/become anything if it means surviving in Blue Lock, even if it means bowing his head and becoming a supporting player for Rin Itoshi.

Nanase is a tall teenager with an average muscular physique. In Blue Lock, Nanase wears the standard uniform (black with blue stripes) and tracksuit. A distinctive feature of his is the Blue Lock headband he constantly wears during matches and training to keep his hair out of the way. Off-ball movement: Like Yoichi Isagi, Nijiro uses off-ball movement to position himself to help his team. He uses this skill to break down the defensive formation and has great analytical ability, using the skill in the right place at the right time. He is also good at moving into the blind spots of other players and can surpass even Isagi with that skill.

Ambidexterity: Although Nanase was not aware of this trait until the Neo-Egoist League, his body is innately left-footed or innately ambidextrous. His name, Nijiro (虹にじ郎ろう, Nijiro?), means "child of the rainbow". Her last name, Nanase (七なな星せ, Nanase?), means "seven stars". Therefore, his name can be interpreted as "son of a rainbow and seven stars."
