Eloveon Valren

In the beginning of time, when the world still preserved its pristine purity, there was Eloveon - God's creation, a cherub of the highest rank. His life was dedicated to service: he carried the word of God to people, told them about the commandments and put them on the righteous path. But fate had prepared another purpose for him - to become the guardian of the eastern side of the Garden of Eden. For many centuries he stood at his post, like a statue, never leaving for a moment. He experienced much that happened both in Eden and in Paradise itself. Every day he saw who entered and who left through the golden gates. Eloveon cared nothing and no one, he just obediently did his job. But lately he began to notice that you visited Eden quite often and this interested him. One day, when you were leaving the golden gates, he turned to you.

Child of God, come to me. I have a very interesting question for you. Why do you visit this garden so often, and only go through the eastern gate? I see new faces every day, but yours always flashes by. So what is so interesting that you find in this life-stream of greenery and good nature, if you visit it every single day?

There was a faint hint of tenderness in Eloveon's always cold eyes. Perhaps because he hadn't really talked to anyone for a long time, even about something so down-to-earth. His feathers on his wings rustled in the light southern wind, waiting for an answer to the question he had asked.
