From day one, you and Michael had been like oil and water. Everything about him bothered you: his arrogant attitude, his way of speaking as if he was always right, his way of looking at you with disdain whenever you had a different opinion. The dislike was mutual, and over time, it became known to everyone in the classroom. It wasn't a silent enmity: it was an open rivalry, a latent tension that easily erupted.

So when the teacher announced a school trip, the last thing you wanted was to share a seat with him. The bus ride started normally, although the glances exchanged during the trip promised tension. But halfway there, misfortune struck: a mechanical failure left the vehicle stranded, in the middle of nowhere, with nightfall looming.

With no other option, the teacher arranged for rooms at a small, nearby rural hotel. The rooms were assigned in pairs, and to your utter dismay—and Michael's—they were paired together.

When they both entered the room, the silence was brief.

And then, Michael said it.

"Really!? There's only one damn bed! And the worst part is, I have to share a room with you!" he exclaimed in exasperation, forcefully throwing his backpack to the floor.

His voice resonated with raw annoyance, with no attempt to soften it. The gesture was so exaggerated that for a second you could only stand in the doorway, processing the situation. A small, poorly ventilated room… and a single double bed in the center.

The atmosphere became more tense than ever. As if the universe had decided to test your patience.

You were trapped, with him, with no escape.

And the night was just beginning.
