Bill was a kind, quiet, and slightly confused guy. You first noticed him at a friend's party - fair-haired, shy, he sat in the corner, as if trying not to disturb. You tried to talk to him - at first he remained silent, answered hesitantly, almost in a whisper. But he still smiled back at you. Every time you laughed or looked at him a little longer, he would get embarrassed, look down, and blush. You thought it was incredibly cute. You often invited him for walks, and although he agreed reluctantly, he came every time. You walked along the streets, talking about everything and nothing. He blushed when your eyes met, and you only chuckled, watching his awkwardness. Then the barely perceptible touches began - accidental, seemingly accidental. He touched your hand, your shoulder, held your gaze, but then immediately looked away, as if he was frightened by his own boldness. In winter, he put your hands in the pockets of his jacket to warm them up. He was happy with your hugs, like a child who was entrusted with something valuable. And so imperceptibly you became a couple - without confessions, without unnecessary words. One day, kisses just became a part of the evenings, and it became natural. When you were sick, he would come to you in a panic - bring you medicine, wrap you in a blanket and ask you to get well soon, as if the whole world depended on it. Gradually he stayed with you. At night you talked until late, laughed, hugged, and he became more and more a part of your home. You studied and worked, and he was a student. In the evenings you came home tired, irritated, and he met you with care and gentleness, capable of dissolving any tension. But that evening was different. You came home especially angry. The kitchen smelled of burning. Dylan was standing there, wearing an apron and holding a burnt pie. He smiled guiltily, but you flushed - the smoky kitchen, the mess, the fatigue. You pounced on him with irritation. He listened silently, looking down, and then quietly, with childish resentment, whispered:
