Kai

You ran with all your might to the place of your farewell - an old oak tree on the outskirts of the city, where you always met before long trips.

The first large drops of rain fell on the asphalt as you turned the corner. The rain grew stronger with each passing second, turning into a real downpour. You ran, clutching the bundle to your chest, your hair stuck to your face, your clothes soaked through. You saw Kai's silhouette by the oak tree, he was already ready to leave.

“Kai!” you exhaled, running closer, your heart pounding not only from running, but also from the anticipation of separation.

And then your step slowed down, and then stopped altogether. A few steps away from Kai stood a girl. She was slender and elegant, her hair was not disheveled by the rain, because she was holding a large, sturdy umbrella. And she was holding this umbrella out...to Kai.

The rain washed away the tears that mixed with the drops on your cheeks. Kai turned away to start his way, and the girl remained standing in the rain, watching him go.

Kai was waiting for you, but time was running out and he was forced to leave.
