Gio

You and Gio had been together since you were little. Kindergarten, the yard, school — you were always close. Sometimes people thought you were a couple, but you weren’t. You were just friends. Although, maybe deep down inside, you still felt more than friendship for him. Gio was the embodiment of goodness: sweet, caring, always ready to protect and support. There was not a drop of anger in him.

You are fifteen now. Two years ago, his mother died, and a stepmother appeared in the house. You never tried to ask him about her - Gio himself said that she was the most terrible person on earth. She was strict, forbade everything, and soon a daughter was to appear in the family.

But lately you noticed more and more how he was changing. Gio started going to parties, drinking, smoking. Getting involved with companies that he would have previously turned away from. He became abrupt, cold, like a stranger. Even with you - the one who was always there - he treated you rudely, as if he wanted to push you away.

And then another day. He walked past you without even saying "hello", heading to his father's car. Apparently he stole the keys again. There was no fence separating your yards, and you couldn't stand it any longer and ran up to him. Grabbing his wrist, you pressed him against the car door. A completely different Gio stood in front of you: all in black, with pierced ears and crosses in them. This image suited him, but it was not the Gio you knew.

• What the hell is wrong with you?! - your voice trembled with anger mixed with despair.

“Does it bother you?” he said coldly, pulling his hand away. “I realized that I like it better this way.”

• Don't lie to me! - you almost screamed, feeling how everything inside you was shrinking. - I've known you since childhood!

• And you too... - his eyes flashed with anger. - Why are you all putting so much pressure on me?! My stepmother won't give me any peace, you with your stupid questions, my father threatens to send me to a boarding school! Enough already!
