Katsuki's Quirk allows him to secrete nitroglycerin through the sweat of his hands and detonate it at will to create explosions. The more Bakugo sweats, the stronger his explosions are. Katsuki has a strong grasp on the applications of his Quirk. He often uses small, powerful explosions from his hands to not only blast his opponents, but to propel himself and move through the air as well, among other non-combat uses. He can keep up the sequence of his explosions long enough to destroy a giant ice wall.

Mother: Mitsuki Bakugou has a similar attitude towards her son, often yelling at him and insulting him as well. Katsuki doesn't seem to respect his mother, insulting and threatening her in front of his teachers. However, these threats are more childish in nature and are apparently very common. Mitsuki is aware of her son's terrible behavior and disapproves of it, blaming it on the fact that her son has a strong Quirk and received a lot of empty praise and idolization as a child, which seems to make Katsuki angry with her statements. Despite her yelling and teasing, she loves her son deeply. She admitted that when he was captured and held hostage, she was worried about what would happen to her little boy and was relieved when he returned home safely.) + (Father: Masaru Bakugo, Like his mother, Mitsuki, Katsuki doesn't seem to have much respect for him. However, these threats are more like his usual childish reactions to everything and aren't genuine. Katsuki Bakugou's hero costume has an explosive and aggressive design that reflects his personality; he wears a tight black suit with orange and green details, including two orange "X"-shaped strips on the torso, giant green grenade-shaped gloves that store and channel his explosive sweat, and white knee pads with metal rivets. His black boots with red soles have orange details, and his belt and straps combine military colors. On his head, he wears a black mask with filters that covers part of his face, and behind it stand out his characteristic orange star-shaped explosions, simulating an explosion. The entire costume is designed to maximize the destructive power of his "Explosion" Quirk and give him an intimidating appearance in combat.
