Levi Ackerman³

Mikasa Ackerman - Mikasa quickly developed a dislike for Levi, partly due to his beating of Eren during the military trial. [ 214 ] Since then, Mikasa has held a grudge against Levi and vowed to one day make him pay for his actions. [ 215 ] During a mission , she lashed out at Levi, blaming him for Eren's capture by a Titan . Her carelessness resulted in Levi having to be rescued by both Eren and Mikasa, despite his leg being injured. [ 216 ] While on the sidelines, Levi repeatedly gives advice to Mikasa, who regrets her mistake and tries her best to protect Eren in his stead. [ 217 ] [ 218 ] By the time of the coup d'état, Mikasa has largely put aside her dislike for Levi, choosing to trust his leadership. [ 219 ] Levi and Mikasa are very similar in their physical abilities and intellectual make-up. The Ackerman surname indicates that both come from the same bloodline. [ 220 ] [ 221 ]

Erwin Smith - Levi and Erwin's relationship initially did not work out after the latter captured him and literally forced him to join the Survey Corps . Levi initially even wanted to kill him, but later decided to put his revenge aside. Erwin eventually became one of the few people Levi completely trusted, obeying all of his orders and judgments. [ 206 ] However, this does not stop Levi from speaking to him in his usual, rude manner. Erwin is one of the few people who could hold a casual conversation with Levi, exchanging short banter with each other for various reasons. [ 207 ] Levi was very upset by Erwin's death, vowing to take revenge on the culprit for his death. Hange Zoe - Levi was introduced to Hange during his first expedition with the Survey Corps . He initially rejected Hange's advances, but their relationship improved over time and they began to get along better. [ 208 ] However, Levi was still irritated by Hange's obsession with Titans, as well as her recklessness. [ 209 ] Over time, Ackerman began to warm up to Hange, such as calmly scolding her when she got too carried away. After years of working together, the two had developed a strong bond of friendship and trust, so much so that Levi did not doubt Hange's theories regarding Titans, even if he did not like them. [ 210 ] Eren Yeager - As "humanity's strongest soldier", Levi commands great respect from Eren. [ 211 ] When confronting Yeager in person, Levi treated him like an "animal", fearing his volatile Titan power . However, he was impressed by Eren's passion. [ 212 ] After getting to know him better, Levi began to treat Eren the same way he treats most others - condescendingly and yet coldly. Levi becomes a "mentor" of sorts to Eren, understanding his potential benefits and giving him advice when needed. [ 213 ] Over time, he becomes more patient with Eren, forgiving his "mistakes", and encouraging him to grow as a soldier. Eren's attack on the Rebelio Ghetto and the formation of the Yeagerists.

Isabel Magnolia - She was Levi's close friend and "family". When they lived together in the underground , Isabel often called him "big brother". Levi was protective of Isabel and even killed two men after they cut off a lock of her hair. Her death was one of the reasons why Levi stayed in the Survey Corps . Farlan Church - He was also a close friend and "family" of Levi. He was his confidant. As with Isabel - his death was one of the reasons why Levi stayed in the Survey Corps . Flagon Turret - He finds it humiliating that people from the slums are accepted into the Survey Corps at all . He describes Farlan, Isabelle, and Levi as "criminals" and their origins as "dumping grounds". He does not see them as future comrades or potential fighters, but only as hooligans with no manners. His derogatory remarks made the tense situation worse. Fragon and Levi almost came to blows. However, he sacrifices his life so that Farlan can escape, calling him a comrade.

Petra Ral - Petra served under Levi in the Survey Corps , and was later selected by him to be part of his squad . She had a deep respect for him and was proud to be part of his team. Levi trusted her and her abilities as a soldier, as Petra had one of the highest records for Titan kills. After Petra was killed by Annie Leonhart , Levi guarded her body until the squad was forced to retreat to the wall. Levi was horrified after Petra's father informed him of his daughter's intentions to dedicate her life to serving him and his team. He assumed that Petra had feelings for him. Oruo Bozard - Ever since Levi saved Oruo's life, he has become his loyal follower. He imitates Levi in behavior, speech, and even appearance [haircut and frill]. In addition, he also imitates Ackerman's fighting style and tries to get rid of titans alone. If Levi turns a blind eye to the latter, then Oruo's behavior often irritates him. Zeke Yeager - As a Titan superior to Annie , Reiner , and Bertolt , Zeke Yeager is one of Levi's greatest enemies. In turn, Levi's status as "humanity's strongest fighter" made him the one who should eliminate Zeke. During the Battle of Shiganshina, Levi blinded and severely injured Zeke, literally cutting him to pieces. In order to ease his escape route, Zeke ordered the remaining Titans to kill Levi. Ackerman surprised Zeke by not only surviving, but by following him to Eren Yeager's location . Realizing Levi's fighting potential, Zeke decided to retreat and leave Paradis Island with Reiner. Four years later, Levi takes part in the assault on Marley. Once he is spotted, Zeke does not hesitate to order Ackerman's death. Despite their coordination in the attack, Levi's hatred for Zeke remains as strong as ever, along with a desire to kill the latter. However, despite this, he can act relatively politely towards him, though their conversations are often peppered with insults towards each other.

Armin Arlert - Armin greatly respects Levi for his incredible skills and ability to fight against Titans . In turn, Levi acknowledged Armin's impressive deductive skills and ability to formulate plans. Despite his general coldness towards others, Levi has provided Armin with emotional support whenever he doubted himself, such as when Armin killed an enemy police soldier to protect Jean . Although Levi admits it was murder, he thanks Armin for ensuring that a member of his squad survived. [ 222 ] When Armin learned that he was the one injected instead of Erwin when Erwin would have been the most logical choice, Levi explained his decision by saying that he has powers and skills that no one else has. [ 223 ]

After Isabelle masters the UMP and the bird recovers and is released into the wild, the trio receives a job offer. Their down payment is the treatment of their friend Ian, who has already been sent to a clinic on the surface. Levi views this not as a deal, but as a hostage situation . Instead of offering payment as a result, their client sweetens the deal by saying that if they succeed, they will be allowed to live on the surface.

Levi is the son of Kushel Ackerman , who worked in an underground city brothel , and an unknown client. Kenny , who is Kushel's older brother, tried to convince the woman to abandon the child. However, she did not listen and decided to raise her son herself. When Kenny ended up in the police force , he sought out his sister, wanting to help her. However, it was too late - Kushel died of an illness. [ 29 ] There, he found an emaciated and starving Levi sitting in front of his mother's bed. [ 30 ] Showing rare compassion, Kenny takes custody of Levi and raises him for several years, teaching him what he knew about fighting and survival. Levi also learned to use the inner strength he possessed as a member of the Ackerman clan. [ 31 ]

Kenny walks out of Levi's life Kenny leaves Levi Time passed and eventually Kenny taught Levi everything he knew. However, he did not consider himself fit to be a father. [ 32 ] [ 33 ] One day, Levi started a fight, which he easily won. At that point, Kenny decided to leave the boy, satisfied that he had taught him the skills necessary to survive. [ 34 ]

Some time later, Levi met Farlan , who decided to test Ackerman's strength by having him fight another gang of thugs. His plan was to see Levi in action so he could decide whether or not to recruit him into his group. Farlan was surprised to see that Levi had defeated them all by himself. The two soon became friends and eventually formed a gang together. After one of the many robberies their gang pulled off, Farlan was put in charge of splitting the profits from the job between his comrades. Knowing that Ian had injured his leg and would need extra money to afford his medication, Farlan gave Ian a larger share than the others. Noticing this, Levi asked him why he did that.

Isabel on the ground Isabel's first appearance Farlan's explanation is interrupted by the appearance of a young girl at their door. Seeing that she is being followed, Farlan and Levi fight back against her pursuers.

Levi is cruel and cold-blooded towards Titans, killing them indiscriminately with apparent indifference. However, when his subordinates were turned into Titans by Zeke, Levi briefly questioned whether they were still conscious of their actions while trapped in Titan bodies. He nonetheless slaughtered them all. When dealing with people he considers enemies of humanity, Levi is capable of acting sadistically. For example, when the Female Titan was captured, Levi, watching her suffer, detailed how he intended to mutilate her human body. He also actively participated in the torture of Sanes . [ 25 ] [ 26 ] After defeating Zeke for the second time, he made it clear that he intended to torture him for all his crimes against Paradis and the Survey Corps by impaling him with a spear . Levi shows no emotion at such moments other than bloodlust, as evidenced by the fact that he methodically cuts off Zeke's legs. [ 27 ]

Levi sometimes loses his cool and uses threats, including violence, to force others to listen to him, even if they are members of the Survey Corps . An example of this behavior was shown when he directly ordered Historia Reiss to take the role of queen. However, when she hesitantly says that she is not fit for the role, he immediately grabs her, lifts her off the ground, chokes her, and orders her to resist if she does not like it. He then drops her and yells at her to finally make a decision. However, he calms down again when Historia complies with his demands. [ 28 ]

Although he rarely shows it, Levi has a sense of morality and empathy. He places great importance on preserving human life, telling his squad to use all their wits to avoid making mistakes that could cost them their lives. This is especially evident when it is revealed that all Titans were once human themselves. The thought that he has been unknowingly killing people all this time greatly disturbs him. Levi also took the loss of his original squad at the hands of Annie Leonhart very personally .

Due to his dangerous profession and his personal moral compass, Levi cares deeply about the well-being of his subordinates. When he was ordered to retreat following the fiasco of the 57th mission , Levi was visibly upset that so many of his soldiers had died in vain. He later risked his life in battle against Annie Leonhart , who had previously killed his entire squad , to rescue Eren from her mouth and to protect Mikasa, who was blinded by her desire for revenge. Upon returning outside the walls, Petra's father approached him and proudly spoke of his daughter and her unwavering loyalty to the Survey Corps . Levi remained silent, too devastated by the deaths of his subordinates. He only said that the will of his comrades lives on with him, and that it is this that strengthens his resolve to continue fighting.

Despite being Erwin's subordinate, Levi acts quite independently. Many of his Titan kills were done alone without direct cooperation from other soldiers. He usually assigns them to patrol the area nearby. Ackerman does not hesitate to give orders when necessary, but does not see himself as a leader like Erwin Smith . He does not seem to value hierarchy in general, and leaves decision-making to his subordinates as much as possible.

Levi knows that his combat skills are on a different level than almost any other soldier alive. He is not arrogant, as he knows from personal experience that no man is invulnerable. Few would argue with his assertions that he alone can hand

Captain Levi is described as a "Clean Man" by those who know him personally, as Ackerman prefers his surroundings, as well as himself, to be spotlessly clean. He dislikes getting dirty, and has been known to wipe his blades clean when they are stained with blood while still on the battlefield. However, he will not hesitate to touch dirt if he deems it necessary. [ 21 ]

Levi the cleaner Levi is obsessed with cleanliness Despite his love of cleanliness, Levi is very aloof and uncommunicative. He rarely shows emotion, leaving a bad impression on others. His speech is blunt, rude, and full of insults, and his comments are often rude or inappropriate. He is not afraid to provoke and humiliate those who oppose or irritate him. His sense of humor tends to be vulgar, offensive, and dark. All this makes him very difficult to communicate with for most people.

During his life of crime in the slums before joining the Survey Corps , Levi refused to take orders from anyone, although he trusted his comrades very much . However, after joining, Levi came to have great respect for the Commander-in-Chief of the Survey Corps , Erwin Smith , whose demands and orders he followed without question. Levi also trusts his subordinates.

Levi beats up Eren Levi beats up Eren However, Levi's "behavior" only applies to a select group of people whom he respects. However, he has no problem showing open disdain for anyone else, especially those in power. During Eren 's trial , Levi openly insulted the merchants, calling them "pigs" [ 22 ] , and accused the Military Police of being incompetent and unable to handle Eren. [ 23 ] And in order to ensure that Erwin's plan to recruit Yeager into the Survey Corps did not fail, he had to intervene to stop the latter from being shot on the spot. [ 24 ] Levi also openly resents the behavior and actions of those in power for their constant attempts to undermine the Survey Corps , presumably due to the criminal life he led before joining the Survey Corps.

Levi has short, straight, black hair that is parted to the right side with the ends cut roughly; narrow, intimidating, dull grey-blue eyes with dark circles under them due to lack of sleep; and a deceptively youthful face. He is short in stature, but has well-developed muscles due to his frequent use of the UMMG . Levi is usually seen either frowning or expressionless, which, coupled with his extremely calm demeanor, often makes it difficult for others to tell what he is thinking.

He is most often seen wearing the Survey Corps uniform with a light gray button-up shirt underneath and his signature jabot . When going on an expedition beyond the walls , he also wears a green hooded cape with the Survey Corps emblem on the back. When Levi was forced to leave his duties as captain due to an injury, he wore a black suit, a plain white shirt, black patent leather shoes, and the same white jabot.

However, since the coup d'état, Ackerman has stopped wearing the jabot over his shirt collar. For most of the time the Survey Corps was on the run from the military and the monarchy, he simply wore his UMP belts over his everyday clothes.

After being blasted by Zeke's Thunder Spear , [ 19 ] Levi gained several scars on his face, including one over his right eye, and is missing both his index and middle fingers on his right hand. [ 20 ]
