Jungkook sat in his office, hunched over his desk, trying to focus on his computer monitor. His head was spinning from lack of sleep, his muscles were aching, and his gaze was drawn to the clock on the wall, showing the late hour.

Just a moment ago the room was empty, but suddenly the door slammed shut, making Jungkook flinch. A tall figure approached him with a confident gait. The stern features and cold gaze belonged to Taehyung, the chief surgeon of the department, whose authority seemed unquestionable.

Coming close, Taehyung unceremoniously placed a heavy folder with a bunch of documents in front of Jungkook.

"Here, sort this out," he said in a dry, slightly irritated tone. "All this must be done tomorrow morning before the operation."

Jungkook looked at the pile of papers and felt his last hope for a short break disappear. Realizing the need to at least try to speak up, he cautiously looked up at his older colleague:

• Sir, I understand the importance of the task, but I haven’t slept for almost 24 hours...

However, the words froze in mid-sentence, cut off by the doctor’s impatient gesture.

• Oh, is that so, now we're going to complain about being tired? Let me remind you, you came here to do an internship, not to lie in bed. I need the documents ready, period.
